I'm really sorry to hear about your parents passing and your wife's illness. I hope she has a speedy recovery.

    Exhaust for Staggered Shocks

Pypes now says that the SFM04 exhaust (2.5" mandrel bent stainless) will fit staggered shocks. They must have made a change in it, they used to say it wouldn't fit staggered shocks...

    Engine Block Number

If you're interested in knowing more about the various codes and casting numbers that Ford uses you'll find a compilation of code numbers in spreadsheets here: https://7173mustangs.com/threads/ford-code-numbers.33536/ The buck tags are found on the radiator support, usually on the passenger...

    CC 351 Cleveland valve springs

After a lot of research and head scratching, I decided to use Comp Cams 26056 beehive springs for my upcoming 408 build. The fit is good, closed pressure will be about 155 pounds and open will be about 400 pounds. Plenty good enough for the Howards cam (231175-12) I will be using.

    Dash lights. Led ?

It's fairly easy to determine which side of the socket is the negative. The light (postive) trace pretty much runs around the outside of the circuit board, with the negative trace the second one in from the outside. You can see the layout in this post...

Here's a decent article on how to use a multimeter: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/other/how-to-use-a-multimeter-when-working-on-your-car-a-beginner-s-guide/ar-BB1hr4cj?ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=66929f1371df4ae69ef43bb799278dc0&ei=160

    Ignition Issues

Another possibility is that the outer ring on the balancer has slipped around, due to the rubber between the ring and hub drying out and disintegrating. The timing marks are usually just etched into the metal, not just painted on. The etched marks can be difficult to see, and usually need to be...

    Ignition Issues

What method did you use to determine that you are at TDC? Double check the firing order: 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 counterclockwise. The big block (385 series) firing order is different that the 351C and W and EFI small blocks. Point ignition? Make sure the condenser is installed correctly and...

    I surprise myself

I know your pain, it seems like every time I've had to change an in-the-tank fuel pump I had to drop the tank, no access from above. Good to hear you got it trouble shot before you pulled the bed to get access. I'm a real proponent of checking the easy stuff first. And yes, I did have to learn...

Vibration when running engine at 1200-1700 rpm’s and crusing about the same.

In that case, it's also possible it has the incorrect balance on the flywheel/flexplate, or a problem with the clutch disk or torque converter. It could also have loose or missing bolts on them.

Vibration when running engine at 1200-1700 rpm’s and crusing about the same.

Has the vibration always been there, since you had the car, or did it start all of a sudden?

    Wiring harness oddity.

That (wire number 469) is the power feed for the seat belt warning, runs from a purple-white wire (#520) at connector 27 to the red-yellow hash wire (#640) at connector 156 or 157 (depending on year). It can be seen in the 1972 wiring diagram (available in this forum in the 7173 Wiki) at zone...

    1972 FMX shift linkage grommet

That's the correct one. Ford used them for many years on many different transmission shifters. The OEM ones ranged from brown to black.
