    Rubber window seals, anyone?

They have moldings encapsulated in the glass. So it’s like a rubber frame on some glass . Windshields have nothing but the glass has benn painted inside to help hide gas or adhesion points

Not sure where to post this. Can someone show me a pic of washer nozzles ,

They mount to the bottom of the hood. They have a small hex to adjust them while the hood is closed. If you go to the 429 Mustang/cougar website there is a picture of a hood that’s opened . They have an index for where whatever you are looking for. The hose comes up through a hole in the bottom...

Any idea what these nuts might be for?

Could be the molding that borders the paint finish and panels lower at the flat black area…qm on buck tag. It’s a common type to hold on moldings and ever hood scoops

    Windshield molding clips

Use a flat blade screw driver to tap the clip on. That’s the best way to snap the clip on the stud. That keeps you way from the paint job. Just be sure to place the clip against the stud…then on the bottom edge there is a shoulder to place the screw driver and smack it down.

1971 Fastback Trunk torsion springs source?

NPD sells a light weight rear spoiler that looks exactly as OEM. I think you can use thinner springs. I don’t know how expensive or readily available the thicker rods are. Just another suggestion.

Single DIN chassis stereo in a '71-'73 Mustang?

You can use a bracket that pushes off the bezel and screw it to the radio chassis to pull the radio tight in the bezel…it gives it strength. Just try to use an existing hole to screen into as not to damage the radio’s board or internals. So kiss the shortest length of screw that can reach. Of...

Need to replace front and rear springs

Correction it was 4.88 gears. I don’t recommend this…. My upper quarter panels 6” below the sides of the window soon looked like wavy water and poor drivability. In left hand turns at a light it would hit second gear in the apex of the turn and in damp roads it would spin around. If ever there...

Need to replace front and rear springs

They are 3.70 with Eaton Tru Track now. Back in the 90’s when the front half of the leafs were clamped it was a 4.55 spool. It hooked so hard gas would come out the pop open cap if it was a full tank. Not a good ride, but you need to focus on your needs/have priorities. I’m older now and used...

Need to replace front and rear springs

I did that about 1990. It works, but the car bounces or is a little rigid. As far as staggered shocks goes ,it does severely reduce hop, but it takes a longer shock on the staggered side. If you can’t find the correct shocks, you can add an extension on the threaded side. Napa sells them Balkanp...

First one gone at Mecum today.

Mine is a c code 429cj with Delux interior and a/c and a c-6 . It has staggered shocks also. It had a clock and no tach either. I think auto trans Mach’s had no tack. Or it was ordered that wayIDK. I did install one as a kid ,and it still works

    Timing issues

Yes it is the factory one. I did as you suggested. I set the initial at 730 RPm’s to 8 BTDC and checked it with out vacuum advance. At 3k it had 36 including the initial..so 28deg mechanical advance. I wanted 36 with vacuum on. Road tested it,and it was fine. Good power while running cooler than...

Single DIN chassis stereo in a '71-'73 Mustang?

I got a JVC unit with Bluetooth phone and streams music and has a back up camera. I had a spare bezel and trimmed it to fit the supplied cage. The cage has tabs you bend away from the unit, which holds it quite well. The radio unit does kinda deep in the well. You could add a piece of open cell...

    Marker lights on a 73.

Yes it has a bracket in each corner as a provision to mount the turn signal lights. The markers are in the fenders and sports lamps are in the grill. The grill(if aftermarket) has mounting provisions for either the single or dual sided latch support.

    Timing issues

I use Race Track boat fuel for the reasons you mentioned and only 1 mile away. It is 89 octane and ethanol free . Doesn’t ping so much , but runs on 2seconds at shut down when near 200 degrees. I got Octanium by VR fuels from Autozone for $25 bucks. I could get possibly three tanks top off from...
