  1. It's likely the lock rod adjustment. If it's not in the correct position, when in Park, it won't allow the key to be turned all the way to the lock position and the key removed.

  2. For sure. Apologies to Droptop73 for the hijack, but we now have 3 thumbs up (Chris, Geoff, John) for what I would consider the "Classic Look LED Headlights" with the Hella globes and the fanless LED's listed above (or any similar). Relays don't appear to be needed, but certainly could not hurt. I'd consider those optional. Hopefully that helps Droptop73 and other make some decisions in the future.

  3. The original relay harness I bought got ruined in my accident. I don’t remember where I got them, but it was before I knew that Rocketman sold them. But the one I have now was replaced by the shop that repaired my car and I have no idea where they got them from. From the pics you posted compared to mine the light looks pretty much the same to me.

  4. Geoff, This is the one. HRKU - Headlight Relay Kit, Universal The Universal Relay Kit has everything you need to add relays to your headlight circuit - without cutting your original wiring. The -2 model is for cars that have 2 headlights, the -4 version is for cars with 4 sealed beams (seperate high beams). Included in kit: 2 weatherproof controllers, a 35A auto-reset circuit breaker, power wire, crimp-on connectors and easy to follow instructions. Benefits: Easy to install, and no cutting. Plug a controller into the back of each low beam, run a power feed and you're done. Redundancy. Each headlight - High, Low, Left, Right has it's own relay and each side has it's own controller. Each 40/60 Amp 12 Volt sealed relay has Negative Spike Protection built in. This means no spikes or feedback to upset delicate electronics. Each controller contains an internal auto resetting circuit breaker to isolate left and right sides. If a controller goes bad, remove it. The OEM circuit will power those bulbs. The single feed wire is easily hidden and the controllers can be removed for car shows if desired. Compact size - each controller is only 3x2x1.5. Kit comes with 35A circuit breaker to power up to 4 halogen lamps at 7.5A each and is auto resetting. Notes: 1 It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that the vehicle's wiring is in suitable condition to supply power to the installed lamps. Available? Yes. Estimated ship date: Saturday, June 26th HRKU-2 For models with 2 headlights $99.00

  5. That is a nice torque curve. I hear ya on the cost - spent a chunk of change on mine as well. I see you had the same issues as I did, going lean in the 4k range and up. I am running a Holley 750 Street HP and we had 80/88 jets in it. It was getting late and we elected to leave it as-is and I'd do the final tune when it was in the car with a wideband O2, as the exhaust might cause it to richen up. I'll be getting some qulaity time in a month or so playing with air bleeds and PVCR sizes.

  6. Thanks John. So, I think you have Rocketman's relay kit. I looked at kits on his website and I would think it's the universal kit we would need to buy, seeing that you have the orange lamp plugs. If this is not Bob's kit, which did you buy? Others have said Bob's kits are really good quality, but none have said which kit. I'm still on the fence about buying relays for use with LED's.

  7. I see you still have 4 wheel drum brakes. Most people here in the U.S. do not realize that you need to grind the arch on the new shoes to fit the drum. If the drum is bell mouthed you need to turn within Max. spec. cast into the drum. I recently found one of the Ammco 8,000 shoe grinders and did a refurb on it. I am missing one piece that I will either make or find one. When the asbestos scare hit in the 70's most shops took the grinders out. They do have a dust collection bag and I will also roll outside when I use it and wear a mask. I know Australia has cracked down on antique vehicles coming into the country with any asbestos parts such as brake shoes, clutches, gaskets and actually the undercoat and seam sealer Ford used had asbestos as a filler. If you do not grind the shoes they have to wear in to fit the drum that is the reason drum brakes get a bad wrap. You start out with as little as 30% brake if not ground. You might check with some old shops to see if they still have one. This one will do from 6" dia. to 16" dia.. I think heavy trucks still do the grinding since they mostly have shoes. I also have and Ammco brake drum and rotor lathe. If you shop around the one I got was $350 and the grinder was $150. Some cleaning and few cans of paint looks like new.

  8. Rebuild brakes and flush brake system on the 72 Mach 1. Replaced all 4 wheel cylinders and replaced master cylinder. A good mate came over in his convertible to help out.

  9. I installed my lights yesterday. I really like them! Got to try them on the road tonight and there is a big difference, much brighter than the halogens. I didn’t bother trying to see a difference between relay vs no rely, sorry didn’t have time. But I did take a couple pics of the halogens vs the led. Led on the driver side are brighter and whiter. Last pic is both sides led and I didn’t have the engine running. Very happy so far!

  11. If you simple rework your housings you will be amazed how much brighter they are cost maybe $10.00. The housings turn brown inside and get chalky. If you blast them with low pressure and sand or walnut shells and then spray with Krylon Fusion satin white paint they look brand new. I have done several sets and also side marker lights. I did the black out also. The only pic I have with lights on is just a flash at the end of a video when I go to reverse. I hate people that go to LED that is way too bright I want to just crash into them. Headlights or tail lights. Preview video-1555166327 (3).mp4
