  1. It looks nice, but it is a wagon, not a Ranchero. I also doubt if it has the 9" rear end with the 6 cylinder engine.
  2. Our local JC Penny has not had automotive section for many years. Did Sears take over the warranty? Ours does not have an automotive department either. Firestone took it over for a while. The last time I just went to the customer service counter in the store and they told me to go buy whatever I wanted and they would reimburse me when I brought back the receipt. They gave me cash. Back in the late 90s they tried to buy me out for a couple hundred dollars, but I declined.
  3. I bought a JC Penney lifetime Battery back in 1977 to replace the original Motorcraft group 27 battery. They have been buying my batteries since then. The most recent replacement they bought me is a Die Hard Gold group 27.
  4. Growing up in Indy in 60s I was a big fan of Jimmy Clark. He won the 500 in 1965 and nearly did in 1966. He was second in 1963 which was his rookie year. It was devastating when he died. Many drivers of that era perished in crashes. I am quite sure the engine in the pictures is the Ford Indy V8. I have seen many of these engines.
  5. One of my daughters came over for Father's Day and wanted me to take her for a motorcycle ride.
  6. Welcome from Mooresville, IN!
  7. These ramps were given to me by my Dad back in 1969 when I first started driving. I have not seen this kind for sale lately.
  8. That is a great story. I also was 19 when I bought mine back in 72.
  9. Thanks for posting this. I found it very interesting.
  10. Check out these pictures of the Shay locomotive at Cass WV. These were taken about 22 years ago. This town was recently featured in the movie Angel Perch and the train is shown in the movie.
  11. Welcome from another Grabber Blue 72 owner!
  12. Welcome to the forum! Also welcome to Tennessee. We have a vacation rental near Gatlinburg and we love it there.
  13. It's too bad it doesn't exist anymore. I have been out of town for a few days. Do you kinow something that I don't? The radio was not that rare. It is just that of the R code, Grabber Blue, Mach 1s with Magnums, sports interior, and other options, mine is the only one with that particular group of options with the radio making it 1 of 1.
  14. Aside from Mustangs I enjoy Motorcycles and sidecars. I also am trying to learn to play guitar. Last September we rode our sidecar rig from indiana to California and back. We also have a vacation rental cabin in Gatlinburg, TN that keeps us busy. www.cozynestcabin.com
  15. I have had my 72 R Code Mach 1 since new. http://www.7173mustangs.com/thread-february-2011-cotm-72-r-code-mach-1-original-owner
  16. Welcome. Your car is great and I really like the wheels.
  17. Do you go to the Shelby Spring Fling in Brown County? I have been there, but not in the past few years. I used to go for the Pony Trails that were held on the Friday of the event. I have also been for the show on Saturday. I will try to make sure to go this year.
  18. Welcome from Mooresville, IN! Maybe we can meet up sometime.
  19. I recently changed to agreed value with J C Taylor and they asked me to get an appraisal as well. I told them that I did not want to and told them that I would go with Grundy or Hagerty and they said they would insure it without an appraisal. I think their agreeing without appraisal might have to do with value. My car was professionally restored (I am not skilled like most of you guys are) and I did not want to take a chance on under insuring it. I know bad things can happen that are beyond our control. They agreed to insure it for $45,000.
