In the late 60s, everyone in my Junior High was talking @ the Boss 302 in the mustangs but in 72 just before Hurricane Agnes ruined the Eastern Seaboard ie serious flooding from Hornell, NY - Wilkes Barre- PA. One of my class mates had a silver Mach1 then I went down to the local Ford dealership and got the 72 Mustang Sales Brochure. From that moment, I fell in love w/the the vinyl top Grande. But by the time i convinced my parents for me, they bought a Mustang II 2 + 2 in 74. Not the same?
  2. There was a Steven Segal driving a black 71 Mach 1. Re Above the Law. Performed like an R-Code w/4.11 rear axle and seemed had a Hurst 4-speed in it. During the movie, the mustang got sandwiched between a a bull dozer and @ steam shovel.

  4. re new to respond to your question-when I broached your problem, I overlooked the matter of so many changes instituted to my mustang, it became truly a resto-mod mustang re to serve my needs as in comfort performance+ as well in handling and sensibley becoming efficient ie mpg w/out loshng the thrill of extreme torque w/accelleration. As I changed over from carburetor to an EFI which matched my cleveland like the De Thomaso Pantera resorted to the Bosch L-Jetronic Fuel Injection w/a 4.11 rear end and a strong 5-speed transmission. W/a tested 26 mpg highway. I look fwd to a turbo. Re need of an EFI system. W/theEFI it was time to change over to a 20 gallon tank that was not available but the ford garage i entrusted to farm out the aftermarket tank to be prepped w/a baffle in the bottom of the tank, was disregarded so now I either replace the stock tank before venturing a long trip re non efi tanks have chance of the fuel sloshing and choking the fuel to the motor if i corner w/under half a tank. For me, if there room at the engine and the bay for a secondary tank which Edelbrock may have might be a faster and more lucrative option rather than leaving the mustang w/the garage for who knows how long-by the way happy kNew year

  7. My wife also like this ones large body and roomieness where on a warm day w/no over cast the sky is thew limit for head room. Also w/the installation of all around power disc and the lower alternate lower rear axle ratio too. It does not have a good rap w/wife on past glitches but she likes looking at it at car shows/parks/local cruises. Reason why had it this long is because wife is interested in the convertible model re see my profile and photo album.
  8. any investment return i consider is the enjoyment i get between showing it and driving it. As for outer rust is like an iceberg, is a lot hidden from sight. See my album pp. 2-6.
  9. 1st thing i would do if i bought it would be using engine/radiator/transmission flush if at then refill, noting if you find any oij in radiator or metal shavings in oil . THEN TAKE TO HAVE TESTED ON A DYNOMETER. Then check the electrical. Then have the underbody sand blasted as a good indicator if you find the very least any surface then determine whether you want to go straight restoration or resto-mod. I am taken that you are going to get it.

  11. All i got for christmas is one of those mechanical frog that my wife acts like me at times when i get into the mode of excitement just before i take the stang out for a session. IT jumps up and down then w/this hideous laugh and continue scuffling forward. Then a bunch of sugar free chocolates,...to an inviicta chronograph watch. Nothing for the mustang. Maybe next year.

See the photos from the 2nd page+ through @ p 5 of my album from where my left of some 8 hrs ago as to where i really got serious @ the resto to mod as this+ case reallized was beyond my means to make original again. As when the entire inner and over body was sand blasted was beyond swiss cheesed. To find a lot of panels were not avaible had to fabricate to a bent frame. Correction began now. The money from acquisition and ...to this point was a mere pitence and a realization it would take 5 times the time to put humpty back together. At what i found under its proverbial skin told me this truth. Finding that what after market catolugues offered was virtually an expensive scam told me prefabricating and a lot of fudging would do this project. After going over it with a fine tooth comb per se found'EVERYTHING HAD TO BE REPLACED'. AND FURTHER CONVERTED. Although what I paid for it was only the worth the weight in scrap metal. Cpy cat
  13. for those like me which had installed a 6-way power motor in for additional positioning for seeing over the dash and for additional comfort is the foundation for additonal pneumatics for adjustable bladders for lumbar comfort control.
  14. The holidays bring out the graying. The stress of the season. In my case the 1st Christmas when I married w/all those extra/new relatives from her side ie when I took on half the bills ie household expenses, included all those extra gifts and cards/activities to participate in.

One of these Christmas s I am going to get my handling straightened out re air shock kits for enhanced ride and racing control should get installed on all 4 weels for independant adjustment depending the weight (shifts) to what purpose ie racing and cruising w/a 3qd passenger like a 3rd wheel per se, as Summit Racing offers on air shock /enhancment kits/ ie bladders and 4 way controls for rear on leaf springs and somewhere near shocks in the front end that should be under 1k dollars the pneumatics; bladders, and controls. Re p. 346 in the catologue and another source to find a space saving compact compressor. Had not been installed yet because have not found a vendor that has variety of compressors. Cpy cat/mike
  16. W/the low mileage you can drop 2 four barrels on it for the appreciation you want fiom it until it served yous need for spqed then set it back to stock. Bet it has a suspension to handle the xtra hp.
  17. check out xado.com @ a solution that will heal any worn inner workings on engine/transmission/carburation and improve performane and gas mileage of which will not see any further wear for 42k to 100k miles w/one application that pour into system on a one time treatment then drive for 1k miles. Might change your mind about letting it go. Cpy cat

I almost got a nice looking 72 red covertible 302 V8/AT/black interior over at the Daytona speedway @ car show in 200 but for the 20k sticker price too steep and had an intuition would get a better price w/the options at another timd-and did 6/2003 from North Hills/Pittsburgh.   19. jeff-@ handelig well-got rear bars-stiff shocks wstock q-code leaf springs w/15x7 and 15x8 tires ie goodrich t/a radials-trabtion bars-rear sway bar @ 4000lbs @ a 60/40 weight ratio front to rear. What else would improve it w/out weight elimination? Cpy cat/mike

  21. i agree even for fishing only 5 minute drive from our loca lake/state par. Keystme where a guy caught a fish that was tagged from local auto dealership/got a new truck and cash.
  22. re guy w.van down by the river. In early 70s a coke denim jeans interior w/cleveland engine ford van this radio stn had touring @ elmira NY area soliciting local interest to ie @ raffle off @ FAST AND NICE LOOKING/CUSTOMIZIED. Cpy cat/mike
  23. looking in retrospect the 72 q-code convertible @ 2.3k that the seller said it had a 4.11 traction loc was not but as i was looking at for lmg term project even overlooked the inner body was entirely held together by a tar/cement but as i was going to rebuild/modify the engine/carbureation/tranny when he said a auto shop project given up on and need for quick sale for an upcoming wedding still took this w/a grain of salt. As i acqured it w/my wifes blessing as registered an antique that as a hobby to stay out of wifes hair but taking it out for the most on shows/cruises and local parks w/wife as then newly wedded too it helped our marrige as something we had in common to further strenghted our bond. Since 03 only 2.4k on body suspension engine efi unit and tranny.   24. for what it takes to drop a new cleveland or boss 302 i would rather add a bi-turbo w/suspension and brake upgrades.
