  1. Thanks for the replies, my search is particular for a pewter 429 Mach 1. I would love to have several of these cars. But, for now since I have a true 429 pewter mustang, I have a goal of getting a diecast to match. I know some of you may have one, could I talk anyone into selling one to me? Rozz If you come accross any convertibles ie 71 or 72 w/NASA hood, and 351 Cleveland, I'm all for shelling out some good cash for that! 2. That seems like for mpg even highway than my mothers 4 cylinder automatic 74 2 + 2 hatchback Mustang which was about 15mpg and was not a California emission vehicle. A real nice looker with gold methalic body and tan accented interior with fake but functional tachometer. 3. If that were a 69 Shelby....My 76 Corvette back in Aug 78 during a divorce where her cousin was the judge on the bench, she cried when she was not able to land it in the settlement. I figured as paying for her education and getting all the household good, I turned around just days before I told her I wanted the divorce, I traded it down for a winter beater wagon for her and a 74 T-bird for me, then used the rest of the proceeds in paying the loan on some out of town property and that education for her beautician degree. To think, if I would have divorce her prior to 1/78, while still in the service, she as w/out children would have enterred divorce with the same as she did in enterring the marriage, 'nada'. Now if that was the 76 special riviera tail/bicentennial edition that was offered only to a select bunch like the military over seas and still at a factory cost....I would have just signed it over to my parents and skipped town right then.
  4. ps, something I did not see in looking at your's, to mine as I have the photos documenting the underbelly of my mustang but having been more in the shop all the time I owned it for serious upgrade and modification, I noticed by my photo, my crossmember is tubular and by far more sturdy than what yours is and would recommend blocking up your mustang to get to the cross member in relieving the stress weight of the car and see no problem in removing yours for a sturdier crossmember. Hope this makes sense to you and good luck finding the good help and the facilities to get it blocked up safely, if you get my meaning. As for the help, I farmed my entire car out where the engine and tranny when to different places as the body as you see by my photo album in restoration went extensive however for my money, still missed grounding my frame and rear panel to each other and thus there is a constant readjusting of the door on that driver side.
  5. Hmmmmm, lets see whether can see the cross member on miine. Was afraid of bottoming out so I replace the Boss oil pan for the 7 quart shallow but extra 'WIDE' Canton w/baffles. (as the other guys said, if it can hold till a project....like a oil pan upgrade, mine is onto a 351 Cleveland with very stiff suspension and the extra weight @ 4,000 lbs, would need it a lot sooner)
  6. welcome from latrobe PA! You certainly have a world class example of our mustangs. welcome from latrobe PA! You certainly have a world class example of our mustangs. Since you appear to have it all together am looking fwd in seeing yours as a contestant in our yearly calendar.
  7. Will be more direct and precise in future inquiries. For now, I am going to end inquiries. Thanx
  8. The only best bet aside from the car part companies to get good tech advise from is Dan Herberth of facebook as well his website/club on facebook called Pig Vicous Racing. He is in Glassboro, NY and does a lot of racing with all the mustang members.
  9. ps. parforever, pay pay just authorized and is in process of fwd the funds to you. my apology for the delay, a technical issue between the earlier transaction me and pay pal.
  10. Looks like I will have to call in my credit card company to refuse payment if this is true. I have notified the vendor of this item and if I do not hear from them with the confirmation of this transaction down to the credit card number, in goes the call to my cc company to investigate this.
  11. About the r code intake Boss on 1972HO's site, I got a Holley Avenger EFI w/700cfm solid throttle body carb on mine. The intake by itself, and the size of the carb it is tied to, ? and at this point in 3 months at the dyno tune, am I really ready to do it all over again in the exchanging my 2 barrel intake for another and will it actually increase the hp and torque w/out losing something else on the way as well as another 6 months to a dyno tun shop?
  12. purchased inner door panels as advertised on this line, this morning and got msg tonight about not paying for them yet. Must be my credit card must not have gone through. This not the site to give other examples of customer service somewhere not doing their job, too. And taking the stang to a garage, scheduled and established back last spring and 3 months into the job, to find its only being worked on as a part time job. (:k<( even the payment to online vendor, a work in process however...finally.got it processed here.
  13. Coordinating and collaborating for getting a changeover from stock ventilation to AC conversion on my mustang.
  14. About the two inner door panels, at felinefds@verizon.net-zip code 15650, just let me know whether I send a check or use a credit card to pay or COD? Mikke
  15. That is really awesome. at least you know what you have before starting the restoration. Mine was all put together nicely with a promise that the toploader was from a 429 1971 Mach one set up and having positraction and a 4:11 rear end on the Cleveland as reason it had so much gforce perse but in actuality was and still exists an Edelbrock 2 Barrel intake Manifold that creates a lot of torque at low miles an hour when introduced with a high carb 4 barrel and the Hurst wide ration 4 speed. See what mine was reduced to when I finally had it sand blasted. on my pp2-5 on my photo album.
  16. PS. See the Fashion Bug in he background. Ours got shut down a few years ago.
  17. I had Monroe Air Shocks w/the air adjustment just above the license plate. When I found my Kyb's were blown in the front and seemed like the car was bottoming out in front and rear, looked into the leafs and found they were the original and just lost their rigidity. So, though I believe the Monroes are still good, who knows as when I decided a not to hassle QA1's set at the stiffest (18) level and though no miles were really driven but the bad track record from the garage that gave me the car back and not only was the brakes just jammed in and leaking, but also they broke my pin to the brake pedal so who knows the whether they just ripped them out. The same when they switched out my Boss oil pan for an extra wide but shallow 7 quart Canton racing oil pan, they placed the Boss pan in my trunk still having enough oil in it to splash all over the entire carpeting back there. To the point, for the rear replacement was the Koni Classics.

  19. Hi Mustang Dynasty, I would start a new thread if I was you.... sounds like a technical question and this thread is in the "wanted to buy". In an indirect and round about way, I am looking at buying a Boss intake manifold if not an upgrade from my existing 2 barrel intake manifold to the air gap 4 barrel intake manifold. But you got a good point about taking the questions to the technicalese.
  20. What would a 72 convertible have to be a wimbeldon white, q code w/cruise control, power disc brakes, mach 1 suspension w/ 3.50 axle w/limited slip posi, Ford toploader, Koni Classic Shocks, 4 speed wide ratio Hurst on the floor, concourse interior or should say deluxe, functional ram air, rear anti sway bar, dual exhaust (can not say much further except an inpending AC stock item) w/a 700 cfm 4 barrel Holley and sizes 15 Magnum 500 wheels No, it could be almost any color, but it Would need the "options" to be truly exceptional,...... On the other hand, a plain "Jane" can be very rewarding. Especially if you are capable of "unconditional love". They ALL get you there....just in varying degrees of style. As a mock up, how would the decodings be written up to look like on the label in the door frame with the above options?
  21. Have a line on an entire stock AC system replace the stock system.
  22. No, "W" would be a C-4, "X" is an FMX...strong tranny What would a 72 convertible have to be a wimbeldon white, q code w/cruise control, power disc brakes, mach 1 suspension w/ 3.50 axle w/limited slip posi, Ford toploader, Koni Classic Shocks, 4 speed wide ratio Hurst on the floor, concourse interior or should say deluxe, functional ram air, rear anti sway bar, dual exhaust (can not say much further except an inpending AC stock item) w/a 700 cfm 4 barrel Holley and sizes 15 Magnum 500 wheels
  23. I think my AC project may take a little longer than expected, once I figure out where it will fit under the hood. We have a new member that deals with the codes as a job per se-along with working at NPD down on the N.E. Florida way. Since my door tag was sanded off(by some wanna be classic restoration shop) before I could have read it, looks like I am going to have to fabricate another w/what options I have improved upon it as a suggested kind of tag. Ha (as an ultimately last improvement is to convert my NASA hood into one that looks like these w/3 NACA scoops and 2 ducts in the aft for the elimination of the heat from the engine.
  24. hoping to land an entire stock AC package shortly then farming it out over the snow months to have it installed. Do not care how just so it works and looks original from the interior. In fact thinking on running it through my alternate optimum battery my stereo is running from the trunk.
