  1. As just today one of our guys got a link on the original 1974 Gone in 60 seconds w/H.D. Halicki driving 'Eleanor'. Do not know how to click into getting the movie as of yet but already asked my wife for it as a stocking stuffer for Christmas. ps, would like to plant the decoder label on my door for the way I have upgraded mine, if that is possible. One last installment perse, between paying off the bank for the improvements and having a stock AC system installed in it, this winter. Ps, I am an old veteran from Daytona whom got a lot of stuff from NPD since 2003. I'm the guy that retired from USPS as a window clerk Port Orange Branch. The one w/the 72 mustang convertible converted from q to r code in 2009. Over in Latrobe, PA (enclosed pic, my rendition of the upgraded 'Christine')
  2. b n r color combination, very hot and mysterious. Bet quite the lady picker upper. b n r color combination, very hot and mysterious(good looking body and interior)Bet quite the lady picker upper. Looks like only a small part time job to get her the way you like. Hope its got AC? Mikke
  3. So, you are the same one and only sdstang on fb as well? Like the expression 'Got Milk'.....'Got photos of the bbq'? This is the same Kohan on fb that just joined your crew just recently.::beer::::beer::
  4. Lee Iacoccaca never like them before they came out but Bunky Knudsen(of course his longevity w/Ford was not a long affair) got them past the approval board, per se, before anything would stop production. Lee called them the 'Dinosour' or was it 'Dino-soar' If we would have continued that direction of big vs smaller, might have cost a little more to make a diamond out of rough per se, but my our my faith in our design, the 2015 Mustang would have been even closer to those $100g exotic cars and still be as economical to maintain and operate.
  5. i will take all AC related items including dash panel for where the AC heat controller goes as well the liight knob as well if in great shape the passenger side inner door panel if you woul pm me in the price and list and shipphng ok ill send a check like yesterday
  6. have not seen any pics of under the hood and interior before i vote you for COTM?
  7. if it is driveable where you can baby it in how you drive it and the engine and transmission does not need an overhaul-check out xado.com not a snake oil treatment to them to stop its wear and rejuvinate it as well a solution for the fuel system to drive for 1000 miles onit. Recommended as advertised by hemmings performance magazines. This may be the cheapest and efficient way to restore and enjoy at the same time. Get a preliminary safety inspection -a good coat of wax-and you should find a lot of stuff on here and for a small cost to upgrade to VIP status for unlimited @ useage on here at no extra cost. Ohio mustang -CJ Pony-Laurel Mountain Mustang for the parts you need are the professionals and xtra tech info. I had to want it all-the resto~mod~customize and then wait ~a long time away from me for a lot of money~took 11 years away from my time to enjoy it:outside a few small drives to car park to shows with it and only a fraction of the 2500 miles put on it over that time period. Good luck and welcome from latrobe PA. Lets see some photos of your stang no matter its condition. As a 20 year veteran of Daytona Beach from the events and working locally and how many women riding on the trunks of their mustangs while accommodating the boys when they yell out 'let me see your....' the same to see your ride. Re: got quite the biography from restoration to the march 2015 COTM calendar choice on my photo album. Have not completed posting all of the pics of restoration and have not figure out as yet how to post the videos. Luxtang has the best videos of .....
  8. i would love to see an extra NACA scoop w/a real shallow fan dead center of hood where the air filter sits under hood and a really adjustable to the rpms of the engine to blast extra air onto an open air flter like a 3rd ram air then 2 scoops on the aft side where the engine heat dissipates away from the motor
  9. believe called NASA for 71-2 and 73 as NACA though i have a pic of a 70Alfa Romeo Milano Montreal describing the single duct as the NACA hood agree HEARD ie NACA ducts and NASA
  10. my driver side front frame rail was replace from a former accident that pushed it up an inward but a fabricated replacement which was not adjusted to fit w/laser measure precision but unless i am going over 100mph ~w/manual steering not a problen foq an drift and over steer for correcting.
  11. in my judgement-that frame heard was squared off as a sturdy foundation-so i have to say -i will more than less understand why you favor that car like i favor o the generation one mustang's frame.
  12. Glad to hear overall you got yourself 2 good deals. Mine went through the same job over and over till it got right and would not have been that kind of problem, I'll bet, if I was able to do the work myself. So this photo you could say is a good depiction on one mechanic to the other while the football is on my head (since 03). Ha (be best if you seen the entire picture yourself on my photo album to do the job any recognition of justice) Got anyother pics of it. Would be hard to take my off of this photo as it looks great and would have the same color on mine if the family would allow it.(they just do not want the part in keeping it in such a luster) that is why its white, but still, you can imagine the only person that maintains it. Been great if mine had the least, disc in front but had to settle with a resto-mod between Summit and SSBC for power disc brake conversion for which did not seem to matter as the garage that did the work for me, broke the pin to the brake pedal and .......a 10g cost to restore the underside. Did not call 911 on the garage but am serioiusly thinking about a civil to recoop the damages. First I have to find a lawyer as judges in my neck of the woods will not hear a case without them. Mikke
  13. Lol, I'm glad it's not just me doing this then. My grandson is "learning" all about these great cars from the past. I've given him ones like, Mustangs (can't find a71-73 here in Aus though) Cougars, 63-64 Gals, Chargers,Challangers,Camaros and so many others. They all try to give him any old thing, not me, I give him the cool ones and tell him that those ones are all junk and that these are the cool cars. He just loves cars and has since day dot, so it's definitely in his blood. :)Do you have a 72 Mustang Convertible w/NASA hood to match mine? will settle for any 71-3 mustang convertible though. Been looking all over the car model scene as well e bay on and off since 03 to the point of being frzzled.Let me know on pm where to send the check, OK? Thnx, Mikke Thnx! For the 'heads up'! Been looking all over the sites into Ebay all day. Just about had one, a kit I could cut the top off, put together, and scrounge around for incidental parts. But was lost by the time I got my ebay acct restored. Mikke (bout as useless w/getting the pc to work for me as.....) been looking for a convertible model with a NASA hood or plastic hard top w/NASA hood that i can cut off (71 or 2 $? Is the 71, a convertible? Been looking on an off since 03 for one till I became really frzzled.(you could say, even got my felines looking out for me too, as for the way I stomp around the house in frustration over the hunt, per se) Almost had my chops set on one in ebay today but in the midst of restoring acct, lost it. It looked like a real 'shoe in' though hard top but plastic kit ie 1/18, all I'd have to do is cut the top off, fabricate the teeny leather boot and paint to match mine. Pls let me know if any of the 3 sets a conv, shoot me your address and the check will be in the mail. Mikke
  14. ::welcome:: ::welcome::::beer::Welcome to the club of the long term restorers of the mustang. lol Mine upon acquisition as a car held together by paste per se, back in 03. Upon the installation of an EFI unit, taken it for granted the farmers that worked on it, tuned it as well until found the 02 sensor kapoot and was dumping pure gas into the oil. welcome from ground zero, Latrobe, PA. ps, just found out am going to be a 4th time great grandfather! 'now who is going to get the stang when I pass'?
  15. A 6 cylinder, eh? My first true love and could have had one if not for Hurricane Agnes taking my nest egg, per se, back in 6/72 up in Elmira, NY. Would have had an intercooled bi-turbo in that one within a decade or so and I believe would have been a better move than miniaturizing them ever after (along with the R-code suspension). As per, IBM, my godfather was one of those guys back in the 60s and up on the wall in HQ Binghampton, NY one of the founders in writing up the instruction and technical eval/troubleshooting manuels. I ended up in Air Force in mid 70's in an AFCS Electronics Installation Squadron/Inside Wire section with those geeks in the crypto career fields. Good looking ride. I spose you are going to keep it stock? With the 6 with a Hurst 4-speed and a gear vendors overdrive and the turbo would rightly be the sweetest stang in this club but I am happy with my q to r code 72 convertible. Just a few more tweaks and it will hold up to its rep on COTM March 2015. Did you get a lot of clips when in the midst restoration? On my photo ablum, pp2-5 covers all of mine however may as well post the 5 steps fwd and 7 steps back, back in my first years of its rest. PSl; godfather's name under his portrait on those walls in IBM HQ is Joeseph Cwynar. Good to see another IBMr in here. A bud of mine over in the Paris, France area, his bud and new acquaint on fb is an engineer over there for IBM, quite a worldwide operation, eh? (pic here, is of me and wife back at commencements at the hometown college) Currently, 'welcome from Latrobe'::welcome::
  16. Ibm, eh? My godfather was big in the technical writing dept at HQ Binghamton, NY On the walls as a founder in writing the instruction ~troubleshooting manuals. Got a friend w/IBM indirectly introduced on fb~ of a friend whom his son~is my godson and they were born~raised and living in between the outskirts of Paris and the Riviera. Unforutunately, this being a comprehensive on the expertise of the tail end of generation one in the vast search of making their 'used mustang' into not only a mean stock machine~like it was new off the showroom floor but, a lot of them w/the sharing of their technology in building their stangs to outshow and outperform even their expectations of their vehicles that if was the production model~the predecessor might have continued in running ../the bigger bodied mustang. There is no such thing, necessarily, that the models of the first gen mustangs could not have been tweaked out to do the same and as well like as the latter ones. MIKKE 74-8 Air Force and 83 Elmira College w/heavy concentration in management and business all molded into a real BS with a further~major in psychology. Now almost off the soap box~your stang would blow holes in us big boys V-8s with sneaking a bi-turbo via an EFI unit under the table~my 1st true love. WELCOME FROM LATROBE PA! Ibm, eh? 17. Do you have everything for the a/c ? Do you have a power steering gear box ? i am looking for the middle dash part dash for the AC W/heater AC controller and the hoses that go from the vent. I am not able to buy the entire AC system now or for the cost of it from the cannisters....assemblies and do not think i actually think necessary on my 72 conv. As well w/too much in it now. See my COTM for march 2015 will see what i mean
  18. been looking for a convertible model with a NASA hood or plastic hard top w/NASA hood that i can cut off (71 or 2 $?
  19. Mine having been converted from the 72 351 CJ stock q code/dual exhausts having an engine rebuilt to comp cam titanium solid lifters, Lunati Hi Performance flat top camshaft, 700CFM solid throttle body with the Holley 'Avenger' MPEFI force air inducted and an MSD unit w/QA1 front and Koni Classic rear shocks and rear anti sway bar count as to the least an unofficial R code?
  20. Though I am a little tardy at looking at your photos of the Lutheran Car Show, they are really nice. Pardon me for cutting in on your site on a different matter, of what kind of armaments? (for the arms award)
  21. Question, an extension about the Boss intake manifold topic that I am trying to find out is, since I took my 72 q code (351 cj) and had comp cam solid titanium lifters and Lunati Hi Performance flat top camshaft installed and all pushed my compression up to 9.5:1 and kept my Edelbrock 2 Barrel Intake Manifold of when I got it, whether the Ford GT 40 Intake Manifold adapted to my upgrade and modification of an EFI unit by Holley would show significant if any horsepower increase while maintaining the same high end torque at low mph as the same, if the Boss R code Intake Manifold .....and if any difference between these two manifolds?
  22. @ the intake to a q to r code conversion w/an EFI unit~ GT 40 or Boss intake manifold. Temo set up in place of existing 2v intake manifold?
  23. nice and well worth it to vette lovers just saw in either new car and driver....a 80 4 door corvette done by a CORVETTES OF AMERICA - Cut and clean conversion cost 39g
  24. A good auto electrician shop can take care of that and set the middle guages up (a very close to looks of the original Mach 1 middle guages available, that has Ford printed on the lower half moon chrome)worth the bucks to replace the old wiring map per se and get the one for the mach 1 that handles the tach and middgle guage set up. pic of those guages on either page 7, 8, or 9 on my photo album for a closer shot.
