  1. Music? I'd rather hear the engine rev and the exhaust purr... At least that's what I dream about sitting in the drivers seat in the garage. :)
  2. Don't know about you guys but I'm not seeing the 429... :D http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Mustang-1971-ford-/290980307461?forcerrptr=true&hash=item43bfc72205&item=290980307461&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
  3. Wow. Seeing that picture in a Google search was the last straw that made me take the plunge and purchase my '71. Now I know who to blame! hahaha
  4. Wow, wish I had the garage space. I'd just plop my 351w right in it...
  5. Why is it so hard to get a good picture off Craigslist??
  6. Welcome from Leesburg VA. Hope you're settling in nicely.
  7. So I found out one of the rims that came with my car isn't holding air for some reason; possibly corrosion. The car is in no shape to have pretty rims yet so I'm looking for just a standard 15x7 5-4.5 rim I can put on while the car is being restored. If someone is looking to get rid of one PM me. Thanks!
  8. I love the multiple listings for this coupe. In one it's a "Grande" for $8,995 http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/ctd/4029040232.html In this one it's just a "rare" GT coupe with no price offered. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/ctd/4045340096.html Then they offer the same fine GT coupe for $9,995 through a different dealer. :) http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/ctd/4045786741.html
  9. Hey King Kong. Any updates on your progress?
  10. Going through the same thing you are. I started off on it kind of strong but it needs some work done to it that I just don't have the skill to do myself. Welding in a new cowl, rear quarters, etc. After getting a $15k quote on getting body work stuff done I REALLY got disheartened and frustrated with it. I haven't touched in months since getting that quote. I mean $15k can get me an instant 71-73 driver but I don't have that kind of cash laying around. Now I feel like I'm stuck. Not even sure I could sell it. Been thinking about parting it out and keeping the 351 and trans. Maybe look for a solid roller I could transplant them in. It doesn't help when your wife tells you every time she looks at it in the garage she just gets angry... :)
  11. Found your eBay ad but you didn't have any engine or interior pics. If you have some you should post them up.
  12. Can anyone in the Northern VA area recommend a body shop for sheet metal replacement? The few places I've had dealings with for my every-day drivers don't work on classic cars. Was hoping a couple people from that site have used places in the past they thought were fair priced and did good work. Thanks!
  13. Grew up in Montpelier... Had to laugh at that comment! Ha Ha it's true, funny seeing the new kids around calling Montpelier "The Pill" haha. I actually live in caroline but I work in Ashland more than I ever see my house. The Pill?? Wow, probably changes with every generation. We used to call it "The 'pelier" in high school... :D You ever poke around Old Dominion Mustang? They have a '73 Fastback with no engine I've been curious about for awhile. I've never had the time to travel down and take a look at it. One of these days I'll make it down...
  14. Yep! That's exactly what it is! Thanks everyone. I got worried after seeing them together like that. Luckily the bracket on the old fender has zero rust on it. I'll try and snap a picture in the next day or two to put in this post. That way others like myself who didn't know this piece came separately can see as well. Thanks again! Love this site for fast info! :D
  15. Thanks Mustang 7173, I was told it was from a '72. Both look identical in every aspect except for this one metal piece on the inside of the fender. I need to grab a picture and post it up as I'm NOT doing a good job describing what's missing. :)
  16. Grew up in Montpelier... Had to laugh at that comment!
  17. What's the difference between the 71/72 and the 73 fender? I have an OEM replacement for my driver's side I bought awhile back. I noticed the other day when I was shifting body parts in the garage that the replacement I bought has a slightly different bracket setup around where the headlight housing would go. Looks like a metal piece is missing where the original one has this piece welded on.
  18. Ouch! Have more kids! I claim 2 kids which helps around tax time...But come to think of it, it doesn't really scratch the surface of what I'm paying! I'm going to start another tread in a few years called "stuff I bought when I stopped paying for daycare". And let me tell you, the list will be LONG! My two kids help me break even at tax time. :) And I'll be the first one to post on "Stuff I bought when I stopped paying for daycare"!! I pay more for it now than I pay for my mortgage every month...
  19. The good and bad of it is only you are going to really notice it. I can barely see it in the pic and pretty sure I would never notice it if I saw the car in person. Good job!
