  1. Please check my work, I have a 1972 convertible, 302-2V, auto with factory air. From the diagrams this is what I find for the engine feed routing: 1. Red with White=Temp sender 2. Red/Lite Green=Coil 3. White with Red=Oil Pressure sender 4. Black with yellow=AC 5. Red with yellow stripe, short plug in, where does it go???
  2. Wow, thank you so much for your effort! That is exactly what I needed. My base on the manifold is actually in good shape. Did the 72 Stangs only have one choke tube? Does the empty port on the carb need to go to anything? Mine does not have anything connected to it either. Also, I do not have a hose from my PCV on the value cover to the back of the carb. Everything is missing. What is that cylindrical thing on the back of the carb that looks like a fuel filter. Do you know where I can get all of the parts to connect from the PCV on the value cover to the carb??????
  3. Have a 1972 Convert, 302-2V, Air, Automatic. My value covers and intake are a lighter or medium Blue. Many people say that they should be Corporate Blue. Bought a can of Corporate Blue, looks too dark. Did previous owner paint the engine the wrong color? What is the verdict on the correct color?????
  4. Just bought the yellow strip Heater Hoses for my 1972 Convert, 302-2V with Air. One hose has 2 bends, the other is straight. Check my work...Left port on firewall closest to fender goes to the value on intake right next to the coil??? Right port closest to engine goes to the top of the waterpump??? The hose with the 2 bends seems much too long. Anyone suggestions or link to photo's on the cleanest way to route the hoses???? Also, I have seen other people talk about a small "s" hose coming off of the firewall, should I have bought another hose or hoses that mate with the heater hoses???
  5. Perfect, I am working on the Stang Saturday, Thank you! Thank you!
  6. You can never have too much Red! What is the name of the color? I have a 72 convert that would look great in that color, I am keeping the interior stock though.
  7. Does anyone have engine pictures of the choke tube routing on a 1972 302-2V automatic with factory air?
  8. Getting ready to start the 1972 Mustang 302-2V automatic after 5 years. Have done the obvious things, changed oil, new plugs and wires, new Battery, Starter Solenoid, Voltage Regulator and battery cables etc....Some people say to put Marvel Mystery Oil or Liquid Wrench down the plug openings and let soak for a couple of days. Any advice on things that I can do to avoid problems???? Brian Kool

May have to post in several threads. 1. (Engine Gauge Feed) Don’t know where one goes, doublecheck my work. a. Red/White-Temperature Sensor b. Red/Light-Green-Coil c. White/Red-Oil Pressure d. Black/Yellow-AC e. Reddish Pink/Yellow stripe-?????????????????? 2. Heater hoses from firewall, it looks like someone may have "rigged" the car because hoses were missing. Right now, a hose goes from my intake to the waterpump.

  16. Greetings from Arkansas. After 5 years, I grew sick of looking at my 1972 Convertible rotting away in my garage. I am on a mission now to restore it. It was my sister's car. She left the car a total disaster, but there are glimmers of hope. The body is straight but the interior is shot. It has a solid 302-2V engine but it is missing just about every hose, vacumn and heater hose possible. I know that there are a lot of diagrams out there but I am looking for someone with hands on, practical experience with the 1972 Mustangs. Would someone be willing to look at my photo's of missing parts and be willing to help me????? Brian Kool
