  1. I dunno, I bet if you went to any car show and asked your average tire kicker. They would say that the Mach 1 is/was a performance enhancement. And way faster.
  2. OK, now I get it, But I also notice that it never does reach the same fan speed as a non clutched version. So the blades would have move more air in order to do the cooling of the original fan,.
  3. That is what has me confused. what temperature is actually being monitored ? I would think that the clutch would have to be monitoring coolant temperature in order to come on when needed ?
  4. What makes the clutch engage and spin the fan blades ? I notice one of the reviewers on Summit comment that it slips at idle and doesn't cool. At idle is where I definitely need the cooling
  5. hmm, is there a link to a clutch fan bolt on replacement ? I know I've seen posts on here before, but never really paid much attention. I believe that my fan is original flex. It must have a couple hundred K on it. I ran it without a shroud for 15 years cause I thought it looked cooler that way . Then I replaced it with a couple Electric fans (tried 2 different Spal models of , but both versions were way loud, and sucked on alternator . So I went back to original (that I saved) and bought an after market shroud just because I learned that it was not really on there as a safety issue
  6. I switched from Hagerty to LelandWest a couple years ago because they allow me to drive back and forth to work up to 3 days a week. I have never made a claim so I can't comment on that, but I pay $310 / year for $25,000 agreed to worth. https://www.lelandwest.com/
  7. For me it always to be that my brain sees it a nano second before the incident happens, but it isn't fast enough to make me stop from doing it. Like holding something in the palm of my hand and using a flat bladed screw driver to remove a stuck screw. And right before the screw driver slips and goes deep into my palm, I swear that I knew it was going to happen the nano second before. Or holding a nail in an awkward position, thinking that I should just reposition myself, my brain sees the hammer heading for my thumb the nano second before I have a blue thumb nail. it is
  8. Did you make the bezel ? I really like that and would love to make something similar to fit with my standard housing. Can you give me some details of how it was made, some pics of the understand. thanks
  9. That is even better news. I was hoping to not use the fan. Mostly because of the noise, but also just because of the complication. This is going to be my next project. I have not been driving to work because of hot hot it is here. Since I am not going to be using the fan, why pay for it. Do you think that this would be a good option ? I'd figure out how to mount it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072LY8FRP/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3B850ZGIPDG3A&psc=1 thanks again
  10. Nice, Thanks for the pics and write up. Can you say how loud the fan is ? Can you hear it over the standard radiator fan noise . Any idea what would happen if you forget to turn on the switch , could you fry your transmission ? If i do this, I'd probably install a solenoid that turns on the power when the aux is on.
