  1. Decided to go through a box that came with the 73. Can you tell me what these parts or wires are for?
  2. Unfort, the tranny on the 73 needs to be rebuilt. But does anyone know if you need to also lift the engine a little to disconnect and pull the tranny out? Unfort the oil pan seal is leaking just a little and I've been holding off having someone do the job because the engine needs to be lifted a tranny pulled to get to the oil pan. So maybe if the engine does need to be lifted might as well redo the pan. Let me know and thanks.
  3. I have a small leak due to old seals on the oil pan. My mechanic said that he could not just drop it as there's alot more in the way in getting it off the engine. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to remove it? Thanks

  7. The previous owner of my stang from 1987-1998 did a power window conversion. Claims that... "The door glass is different. The nonpower window door glass is straight on the bottom and the power window glass has a curved cut out to clear the motor when the window is fully down"
  8. Anyone here have a car alarm where you can arm/disarm and monitor via smartphone? I realize that I might be a little paranoid, but I would like to keep an extra eye on the car when I'm not next to it.
  9. Here's a before and after pic with the new leaf springs and Monroe shocks. The guy said that he measured before and after for a 1 1/4 height difference. The car does handle a lot better now. Next is front and rear spoiler and the center of the NASA hood painted satin back.
  10. I was never a big fan of the 71-73's back when they were new. But within the last year for some reason seeing a red/black combo vert starting growing on me. So I bought one in Feb and now in the process of making it a Mach I tribute. I actually sold my 2003 GT vert with the same combo to buy the 73. So far getting a lot of smiles as I pass people on the street.

  14. Doing the leaf first and then see how the car looks and rides. My body shop guy did say to stay away from air shocks. Not sure why though. Guess I'll ask him when I see him soon.

  16. Did someone say, "Road Trip" Sure would love to take a road trip up to Jersey, I grew up in Toms River... I know this is a long shot, but would you be willing to sell just the center caps? Yours look brand new compared to mine. Let me know. Thanks and good luck. Sorry but I really don't want to sell them without the rims as a package. UPDATE!!! The Mrs. wants the rims out of the garage. New price before I put them on ebay for forum members here are $375.00. If I have to go the ebay route I'll start the auction at $350 and I'm sure they'll go higher than $375. I did a little calculation with shipping to Chicago just to give you an idea and it's $27.39 per box times 5 = $136.95. Of course if you're closer then it's cheaper.   19. Now that the Magnum 500's are on, I'm looking to sell Five (5) 1973 original Ford aluminum slotted mag rims. Size 14 x 6 including 4 aftermarket center caps. The rim on the far right (no cap) was used as a spare, cleaner and in a better shape. All rims are straight. Considering they're are 40 years old, they have normal scuffs, a few small chips, some oxidation but are in very good shape and just need some good elbow grease to clean them up. Looking for $475 FIRM. There were 2 auctions recently of the same rims on ebay with 4 rims and no center caps. One auction went for $366 and the other one $760. Local pick up only (Forked River area) NJ. Not looking for a trade. Here's a pic of them on my Mustang and off the car.
  20. This is something I would not want to tackle myself. A local shop is quoting me 4 hours of labor to change the leaf springs. Is this normal? Plus at first I'm just doing the leaf springs with leaving the shocks alone to see how the car rides and feels. I can't see changing something out if it's working fine. The leafs are being changed since the bushings are dry rotted and I'm sure that does have an effect on the ride and handling of the car. But I do have 2 serious concerns. 1) If I change the leaf springs and shocks, I'm afraid that the rear might sit to high. 2) Then of course I would need to do the front shocks and coils. It's like going to change a washer in the bathroom faucet. First it's washer and before you know it, you'll ripping out the entire bathroom.
