  1. There is a lot of things that are not correct for a true surviver. Like the decal on the air cleaner not to recap all the things already brought up earlier. I also think this car has been involved in a front end accident. Two many things don't match up. Not sure this will be a true numbers matching car. On the bright side it is a j code. Price is high
  2. I sent you a pm, looking for a good grill and a shifter light with harness for automatic. Let me know. Tim
  3. Just started looking but, if I remember correctly yes I have seen one in pewter.
  4. Yea, I saw that one. I have seen a couple 429 now, I am going to wait for a pewter 429. No since getting a model that does not match my car.

I have seen the blue one. Was hoping to find one that matches my car.
  6. Wow I thought sun star had better quality. This would take a lot of patience and a new stripe kit and that's just the start. Thanks for the reply but, I will wait for a better one. Soon or later someone will have a real 429 mustang in pewter. Rozz
  7. Mike I would be happy to let you know if I find one and if you find one first please let me know. At least we would know that they did make the 429 diecast in pewter. On a different note I did find another pewter 429 for sale, I am not interested they are wanting $35,000 for it. They say it's mostly original but, from what I know. Somebody has changed several parts. Tim
  8. So if I understand you correctly, I will never find a pewter 429 die cast?
  9. This is nothing new. I have seen them on afew cars already at area shows. One person told me which mustang parts store has them. I will look back though some old emails to see if I keep the parts store name. Ok check, mustang unlimited.com . They have them for $125.00 I would do my home work on this piece. Just my two cents. https://www.mustangsunlimited.com/ProdImages/MPG70-C.jpg
  10. Yea, I know Danbury will bring big money but, I cannot even find one to see how much big money is. Unless someone on here has one that they would be willing to part with. Rozz
  11. Thanks for the replies, my search is particular for a pewter 429 Mach 1. I would love to have several of these cars. But, for now since I have a true 429 pewter mustang, I have a goal of getting a diecast to match. I know some of you may have one, could I talk anyone into selling one to me? Rozz
  12. Can anyone help me find a 1971 429 diecast mustang in light pewter? Thanks Rozz

  16. The car from Machete is now living in Texas. No, it's not mine rather someone I have been speaking with. Rozz
  17. Not many of this cars had this wire. If it had not been verified though the 429 Megasite I would have thought something was not correct myself. The best I can tell it was a California emission thing. Not sure it was on this car because of the rodchester carb or auto transmission or ac or ram air. I can say it was like finding a needle in the hay stack. I must have looked like a deer in head lights, I could not believe my eyes. With all the searching I had not even seen anything close. Until it was there. Rozz
  18. Oh my goodness. Yes I think the year would be very helpful. Looking a for a 1971 Mach 1 grill. Rozz
  19. My 73, made the 1 of 1 club due to clear glass. Welcome to the club. Rozz

  21. A warm welcome from Texas.
  22. Great story Tim, I am glad you found the wire. I have seen your post looking for that wire on numerous other sites using the same screen name. Guess the hunt is now over. You will find something else to look for now! Have you tried to register you car on the 429 Megasite? Sure wish that site was active again. Great story Tim, I am glad you found the wire. Have you tried to register you car on the 429 Megasite? Sure wish that site was active again. Done looking. Car is 100% original , except for the mufflers. Which I just took them off, yes of course I kept them. The 429 site is really week, I too wish it was active but, there is just not many 429 cars out there so I kinda understand why it's not more active. How is your car coming alone? You are still welcome to come to austin anytime, if you have any questions about a 429 orginal car.
  23. Well the wife and I decided to take a road trip to St. Louis looking parts for my 1973 sportroof. We stop at every salvage yard we could see and every time went though a town we were googling like crazy. All through Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri we found a few 71 & 73 but not one car that the wire would have come own. (Because it did not come on very many 429's). While at the arch in St. Louis we found a car show and was talking to one guy that said he remembered someone else was looking for the same a few years ago in pennsivanina. Latter that night he sent me the post. Luckily for me the guy had his number on his post. I called him to ask if he had every found one. His post was from 2003 and guess what. After a couple of years with out any one replying he decided to have it reproduced. Then out of the blue someone called him that had it and he bought it. Long story short, He liked this new wire better so I was able to talk him into sailing it to me, the original wire that is... :) Tim
  24. Just letting everyone know, I have fould the original wire and now my car is 100%. I can not believe that, this search was truly like looking for a needle in the hay stack.
