  1. Not to be a party pooper but that car deserved to be restored to concourse because of all the time and effort I put into finding N.O.S. Parts and the 15x7 wheels and rings caps. I had to buy a whole car on eBay and have it shipped from Ok. to get those wheels and then found a second set of rings for them to make 4 good ones. Not to mention that I went to Santa Barbara Ca. To pick it up 8 yrs before that from Ut. I had to sell it because of a business partnership gone bad(lawyer fees) other wise it wouldn't have left my ownership. I am sad to see it didn't get the restoration it deserved but it is your car now and I wish you the best.

We have a theme on this site that encourages owners to build their cars the way they want. For a whole myriad of reasons James built it the way he wanted. Sorry you have seller's remorse but once it's no longer yours then your opinion and woulda/shoulda/coulda comments are better not expressed unless the OP asks for such opinions. Let James be happy with what he's done. It's an awesome car and it looks fantastic even if it's not concourse.

Don if you read the post you see at the end I said I wish you the best. He should know some of the history of what previous owners went thru and how they treated the car also. I would want to know history of the my cars and their journey's! But he won't even respond to me. Sorry if I offended you!!!

  2. In a turn of events I sold this to a friend but he realized he's not Goin to fix it so I'm partinng it out I don't think it's worth saving. Needs floors. Quarters. Trunk rear floor work. Front frame near battery apron work. Ask with needs. Not much left but some sheet metal. Disc brake parts staggered shock mount. Good frame. Cowl is surprising intact. Post with needs. Thanks

Does have the fold down sheet metal where trap door goes? I might be interested if you can get it out.

  4. Tom, are you changing to a vermillion interior? Looks like you are making progress with it.

No I was just mentioning that ours look very similar in their current state of body work. It will have black like it's supposed to. My wife likes the pewter so it probably will be all correct when I get to do it.

    What a awesome find!!

Very excited to bring this one back to life! Engine fired right up!

with the Vermillion interior, dog dish caps, no spoilers and needing

a serious paint job... my brother and I decided to turn it into a

Diamonds Are Forever 007 tribute car... I can hear that Bond bass guitar twang every time I open the garage! :P

We were able to find a new set of Uniroyal Tiger Paw White Walls that will look great on a Bond car.

The rest of my buddies are scratching their heads.. WW's on a Mach1? Trust me they will look great!

That will be cool! I like to be different too!!
  5. I can get pics of some of the stuff I saved the panel between trunk and window, the gas tank strap brace front and rear. Seat pans, inner wheel houses, section of trunk where shocks bolt in, front frame rails where bumper bolts on I cut the engine compartment just in front of firewall with a reciprocating saw. Rear frame rails. It did not have dual exhaust.

  6. I had the same problem on a 71 Mach 1 with a 302 all original motor but knocking, before I pulled it everything worked when I installed the new engine nothing would work and I did not remember pulling a ground strap off! It took several months of hair pulling and cussing finally called a friend he came over looked at it for a couple of minutes, Then asked if I had a pair of jumper cables? He hooked them up to body and block low and behold everything worked! UGH!!:udaman:: was my response!
