  1. Hi, I bought the R4-S compound for performance street. Claus
  2. Hi, in July last year I bought 2 sets of Porterfield brakeshoes (Fronts SHOE169, Rears SHOE152) online and brought them to Germany. In March this year I had installed the brake shoes in my 1972 Mustang at a workshop which is a specialist in classic US cars. On the front axle together with the brake shoes new brake drums, new wheel brake cylinders and brake self-adjuster kits have been installed. After installation, I had significant problems with the brakes: the brake performance was worse than before with the old glazed brake shoes and during braking the steering rattled. We had to demount the Porterfield brake shoes and replaced them by other make brake shoes. Now the rattling has disappeared and the vehicle brakes normally. When we checked the Porterfield brake shoes we determinded cracks in the surface of the brake shoes. In May this year I sent my complaint to Porterfield and followed up serveral times but until today I didn't get an answer on my complaint. What is your experience with Porterfield in case of complaints? Can anyone of you give me the email-contact of a reliable and responsible manager at Porterfield who would take care of my complaint? Thanks for your help. Claus Best regards Claus Hoffmann
  3. I didn't find an axle tag on my rear axle only a cast brand "61" or "19" at the bottom of the axle housing. Does this help for the axle identification?
  4. I red that MSD recommends to increase electrods distance by 0,010 -0,020 inches. Do you have experience with that? What is the effect?
  5. High guys, what should be the spark plugs electrode distance in a 351 C 4V? I'm using Motorcraft SP-450, ASF42C with MSD 6AL and Power Blaster 2. Thanks for your help. Claus
  6. Welcome to the site Claus from Washington State. Can you repeat the above in it's original German format, the translation is missing something and now I'm really curious, thanks. Jim I'd say: " Stromausfall in der Garage. Habe (als Folge dessen) meine Familie getroffen. Scheinen nette Leute zu sein" "Had a power outage in the garage- met my family - they seem to be nice people" Thank you for your correct translation Luxstang. Isn't that a funny sentence?
  7. Hi fans and owners of a 7173 Mustang My name is Claus and I'm living in the South of Germany. I'm new in this forum although I have a 72 Mustang since April 2014. It's a convertible in dark red, roof and interior in black, automatic gear box, 351 engine, Mach1 decor group. I often surched for interesting information about 7173 Mustangs in the German forum "Mustang inside" but most posts there are for 6x Mustangs owners. So I'm happy that I found 7173 Mustang and I'm sure that I will come back with some questions. In the German forum I found a funny slogan and will try to translate it for you: "Power breakdown in the garage - talked to my family - seem to be nice folks".:D
