  4. Welcome from Perth, great to see more 7123's in Australia. I went to Mustang Day in Perth a couple of weeks ago and there would have been 100+ 64 1/2 to 70's, 1 x 73 convertible and my 71 Mach 1! Cheers... ...Mickus
  5. Hey Mark, Welcome from Perth. Ivy Glow, mmmmm love it! ::thumb:: ::thumb:: ::thumb:: Post some more pics when you get a chance, where are you? Cheers... ...Mickus
  6. I used a holesaw with 1/4" arbor to make a timber template that fit snugly into the recessed cut outs under the hood then drilled a 1/4" hole from underneath through my template and through the hood. This 1/4" hole then became my guide to use a holesaw with 1/4" arbor from the top. Voila! ::thumb:: ...Mickus
  7. Mike, I think I can get you some of these but are 4 cowbells per rim enough? :chin: ...Mickus
  8. Looks better every time I see it, stunning bar setting vert Greg! ::thumb:: ...Mickus
  9. Welcome from Perth, Australia. Gotta love green!!! ...Mickus

  11. I did some research on Joe Mayabb and uncovered this: After watching this 4.98/146 1/8 run 20 times :D I found his email address and emailed him. Joe jnr answered my email about an hour later and told me that his dad, Joe snr, had installed the crate engine and shared some more info with me. And, as it turns out, the 460 has been stroked to 514 ::thumb:: So, I headed out to take another look at this 72 Mach 1. This time with the tools to get her started. A new battery and a kick in the guts and she fired first time. What a beast, C4 with full manual shift kit and she smokes up in 3rd when you plant it doing 60! rofl I now have a new addition to the stable :P ...Mickus
  12. Hahaha, I'm surprised that story didn't make the Wellington front page headline! :D
  13. Thanks Bill, yes, any personal info please PM me. I'm just after any info anyone might have about this Mach 1, if anyone is familiar with it. Was optimistically hoping someone would say "Hey Mickus, I owned that Mach 1 and it is a killer! We had to replace the rear quarter when I backed into a camel, couldn't see it through the rear window! The Joe Mayabb 460 made 625hp on the dyno but I only drove it to church on weekends, actually that's where I hit the camel. There were 3 of them being ridden by men with beards!" :D Cheers... ...Mickus
  14. Looking at a 2F05H that has had the 3512V replaced with a 460 built by Joe Mayabb out of Campton, Kentucky. It was imported into Australia about 4 years ago, never been registered or driven here and that's about all I know. A bit of rust in the trunk and some bog in the driver rear quarter, backyard traction bars and sub-frame connectors. Here's a few pics: Kentucky plates Anyone familiar with this Mach 1? This is not the original colour, looks like it was originally Grabber Blue. Cheers... ...Mickus
  15. Guys, sorry for the delay. The last coupla months have flown by in the blink of an eye ::shrug:: Here's the Dropbox link for the Japanese Mach 1: Nagano Musclecar Graveyard PM me for the location if you are heading over ::thumb:: Cheers... ...Mickus
  16. Looking a little closer, I'm sure that's my dad but the woman with him looks a little shorter than mum :chin: How tall was your mum Greg? ...Mickus
  17. That looks like my parents on the balcony after a heavy night on the G&T's. I can always spot dad by his bathrobe! ...Mickus
  18. Ah ha didn't even think of them, I was thinking maybe JB in Ayr. They (JB) not long ago built a 660+ HP standard stroke, solid F/T cast headed 2V, runs high 9's in 3500 lb Falcon, more in it but have had some dramas. Yeah mate Tremaines sure do build some tuff stuff, that's why they're pro stock champs over here. I remember when they were having their engines built by Schaffiroff, but after a while and many dollars decided to go their own way and open the shop. May have to contact them about machine work on my block. Don't worry mate, I've heard a 186 with a 500 Holley and XU-1 cam with headers will make 500HP, lol. That'll work for the Monaro rofl 186 is overkill. I have a 149 here that will slip straight in! :D
  19. I don't understand how a 1987 can only have 7600 miles? That's 253.33 miles a year? 4.87 miles a week? Grandma, Sundays, church? ...Mickus
  20. Looks like an awesome turnout Greg, didn't see your vert there? I don't know WTF is wrong with me but I really liked the Elvira/sidepipe vert. The patina in that paint! ::thumb:: ...Mickus
  21. Hey Paul, how's 10% finder's fee sound? Anyone else wanna pitch in for $5.10? ::thumb:: ...Mickus
  22. Hey Mick; that Mach 1 in Japan was a mess dude. When I lifted the hood (with the owners permission of course) to check out the engine bay and take some snaps, the underside lip crumbled under the pressure of my fingertips and you know that sound when you open a bag of potato chips and slowly squeeze the bag crushing the contents? Well, that's the sound the hood and the hinges and the springs made as I lifted the hood. I don't know how that car was still standing. The chassis and frame rails were completely rusted out, another 10 years and they'll be nothing left. All the plastic looked great! I contemplated lifting the cowl vents covers but decided against it. Didn't want any bad 'carma'. lollerz From the before shots I've seen of Eric's, this one made his look pristine! ...Mickus
