  1. For the msd dizzy try both lite silver springs to have all the timing in by 2500 rpm if its knocks under load start adding 1 heavier spring at a time. For the timing start at 14 and have 21 degree bushing in there for a start and see how things go from there.
  2. Read this, https://www.7173mustangs.com/thread-questions-on-front-end-rebuild?highlight=spring+compressor Go to hemikillers post on page 2 and it will tell everything you need to know.
  3. Since its fun to spend your money, take a good look at your timing cover to see if its corroded badly. Here is the replacement 1 I used on my 70 cougar, https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ses-5-65-04-201/make/ford
  4. Run this for a waterpump, I am running this on my 525 hp, 393C stroker and it runs 180 all day long. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bra-1648/make/ford
  5. Depends on your state, the Fairlane club of America is still having its national meet in springfield , Missouri on july 10 and 11. Its a 500 mile haul for me but I never been to 1. Next year its in Nevada so I am going, come hell or high water.

  11. Yes you can use a pickle fork to get the pitmen off your draglink. Get one of these to remove it from the gearbox, might be able leave it on the draglink after its removed from steering gear box. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/lil-41900
  12. I’ve only had the car out a few times with new motor. Temp gauge stayed in upper portion operating range. I was concerned with the safety aspect of the exposed blades. Is a clutch fan a bad idea. It was on the car when purchased. Here is mine, fan should be half into the shroud, clutch fans are a good thing.
  13. The shroud looks correct, but your fan does not, its a clutch fan. My advice is run it and see if it overheats before trying to fix something that may not be broken.
  14. KC on the boxes I had rebuilt, 1 was for a 66 Fairlane and the other was for my 71 torino cobra. Best is give them a call and ask. If they don't then powersteering. com sounds like a great option. Just don't try some of the ebay flippers that repaint the box and that's it, and that's after your core is sent in and long gone.
  15. Send your box to Dan and get yours back, he only deals in ford parts. My turn around time was 10 days from when I sent it to getting it back. http://www.chockostangclassicmustang.com/rebuildingservices.html
  16. If it was mine, I would replace the oil pan gasket, oil pump, oil pump drive shaft and a good double roller timing chain. Its good insurance to keep the motor alive for many more years.
  17. I am giving these carbs a try here is 1 for a higher Hp motor https://fstcarb.com/products/41750b-1/ Something a little calmer https://fstcarb.com/product-category/carburetors/rt-x/ Something more stock https://fstcarb.com/product-category/carburetors/rt/page/2/ Their made in Detroit and have some nice features.
  18. Here is a photo of my current project, Chuck is right they need to be seated in farther, I didn't realize this until I looked at my 70 eliminator.
  19. I would say that looks normal to me, did you put new bearings in ?
  20. This is all right doesn't trip my trigger, there was some money spent on it. https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/ford/mustang/2396512.html
