  2. Nearing the completion of installing a new American Auto Wire harness into my 73 Mach 1 with a FMX trans. I would like to keep and splice in the original connections, if possible. Using the info below, could someone please tell me how to connect and to what color wire off the original connectors? The instructions call for only 4 wires: Backup and Neutral Safety Switch Connections (see Figure “II” on page 19) If you have a vehicle with an Automatic Transmission where the Back-up Light Switch and the Neutral Safety Switch are inside the vehicle on the Shifter, you will have to route the four wires (5, 6, 24, and 39A) to the Shifter and connect. 1. Back-up Light and Neutral Safety Switch Connections For both a Manual transmission and an Automatic Transmission, route the light green Backup Light/Switch wire (circuit 24) and the pink 12 Volt Ignition wire (circuit 39A) to the Backup Light Switch and connect. Polarity doesn’t matter. If you have a Manual Transmission, you will need to connect the purple Neutral Safety Switch wire (circuit 5) and the purple Starter Solenoid wire (circuit 6) together. If you have an Automatic Transmission, route the purple Neutral Safety Switch wire (circuit 5) and the purple Starter Solenoid wire (circuit 6) to the Neutral Safety Switch and connect. NOTE: If circuit 5 and circuit 6 are not connected, your Starter Solenoid will not engage, and your Engine will not crank. Wire # Wire Color Printing Description 5 Purple NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH Start feed from the Ignition Switch to the Neutral Safety Switch or to circuit 6. 6 Purple STARTER SOLENOID-S Start circuit from the Neutral Safety Switch or circuit 5 to the Starter Solenoid. 24 Light Green BACK UP LT SW->LIGHTS Feed from the Backup Light Switch to the Backup Lights. 39A Pink 12V IGNITION 12V feed to the Backup Light Switch. Also, if anyone has any pics on how the Safety Switch wiring is routed up and into the engine bay it would be very much appreciated. Thanks for the help.

  4. Hopefully you will do another run. Went to the mail box today and was excited to see a package from you guys. Imagine my horror when I saw that something had punched a hole through it. Opened and saw that the hole had gone through the shirt in about 4 diffterent places. What a bummer.
  5. I like what you did. Been looking at backup cameras for a while and I need to replace my mirror anyways. I see that it gives you options to cut a white and green wire. What is that all about?

  7. I was going to convert my 73 front to a 71/72 but decided against it. I had one of the reinforcement pieces. Let me take a look and see if I still have it. If I do, will get back with you here.
  8. In my haste, I didn't take any pics prior to disassembly of the dash. Area in particular need is the Brake Pedal Support to Steering Column Bracket. Along with that, I'm not sure of how the dash panel fits in with those. I have the assembly manuals but the drawings are not very clear. If anyone has some pics of that area and how it all goes together they would be very much appreciated. Thanks....Andy

  11. Looking for the brake line coupler by the passenger shock tower. It's the one that connects the passenger brake line to the cross-over line.
  12. I'll be doing those soon. How would you make that work? Is it a 3-way "y" fitting to replace the OEM block?

  14. Replacing all of my brake lines and have ran into a connection problem. I have front disc brakes and on the passenger side, I have two male fittings at the shock tower. Is there a special coupler or union needed to connect the cross over line to the wheel line? If so, what size is it and where can I find one? Thanks, Andy

  16. Quick question. I am just now getting around to install my front suspension. Got all new parts since car didn't have any when I got it. Question is about the spring perch tab. Does it go towards the inside near the apron or out towards the wheel? If anyone has pics of this area, they would be appreciated as well. Thanks...Andy
  17. Thanks again to everyone for their insight and suggestions. Looks as if I will be going with the 600 and 1" spacer.
  18. Is the spacer necessary and if so, how do I determine the amount of spacer? Plan on using stock accelerator cable and a Lokar kick down. Might end up using a Lokar accelerator cable but don't know yet.
  19. Thanks for the inputs. I was leaning towards the 600 but had seen a couple of posts on the 750. I just want to make sure that I don't get more carb than what's needed.
  20. I have been reading everything that I can find on the subject and just wanted to float this out there for any more info that you all may have. I have a 351C 2V and am looking at converting to 4 Barrel setup. As far as I know, it's still stock inside. I have pretty much narrowed the manifold down to the Edelbrock Performer but the carb is leaving me with a lot of questions. I am fairly certain that I will use a Summit Carb with electric chock, but can't decide which one, 500, 600 or 750. I've read a lot on each one but can't decide. Will be used mainly for daily driver, weekend cruiser and the occasional light to light runner should the need arise. Any suggestions/recommendations is appreciated. Thanks, Andy
  21. I have a set of Distinctive Industries standard door panels. All holes except the remote mirror were stamped and just needed to be cut out. Don't know if this was just a fluke or something. Would anyone happen to have the measurements or a rubbing as to were to cut the hole for the mirror knob? Andy
  22. Looking for a set of the plastic sail panel pieces for a non-fold Fastback. Color doesn't matter. Mine are missing the metal strip at the bottom and the mounting holes are completely blown out. Also have deep gouges. Any help in finding a set of these in better than good condition is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Andy
  23. WTB a 351 Cleveland Oil Dipstick and tube. Prefer to use original but am open to aftermarket. Send your opinions/experiences with aftermarket. What brand is the best to go with? Thanks...
