  1. I am glad you posted this. Had the same issue with my 71. Bought a new cigarette lighter and spliced it in behind the floor council. Runs my GPS and phone charger. Thanks again for posting.
  2. I got a Martin report because I wanted to make it like the day it rolled off the line. Just a personal choice. You have to do the car with what you want, not expectation of others. That is the reason you purchase it in the first place.
  3. You are a prince! Ordered the set this morning. It will be good to have it working soon.
  4. I am missing the gear that goes to the end of the speedo cable and C6 transmission so no mph displays. Don't know the part number for it or where I can get one. Anyone know? Stumped. Using RPMs to estimate speed....
  5. I live in Charlotte and wasn't aware of this. Thanks for posting.
  6. Do you need new or used? I may have used. May need some pictures such as fusible link, discharge hose grommets etc. I have 28 71-73 parts cars. Mike I'll take either on the throttle cable as long as it is in good shape. Looks like I can get the flex tubing at O'Reilly's or Autozone (thanks Eddie) so will try there tomorrow. I'll try and get pictures of the rubber gromets. Appreciate everyone's help! Dave This is a great link! Just what I needed. Thank you.
  7. I am down to weeks to finishing my car and need some hard to fine parts: - throttle cable for a 429 - Hot air tube - flexable aluminum for air cleaner to exhaust - Rubber gromets for Radiator Support - Discharge hose - 14 guage Fusable Link (wire) If you have or know where I can get them that would be great. I have tried Harris Mustang, NPD, CJ Pony, and Ohio Mustang. Thanks, Dave
  8. Nice to have another NC member. I am just north of Charlotte (71 Mach)
  9. I have not had much time to go to the shop and work on the car but they guys at the restoration shop have been putting in some time. Body work is done and it is now in green primer. I went up and media blasted more of the smaller pieces (door hinges, smaller body parts, front springs, etc.) and hope to get back up there the early part of next week.
  10. Thanks. Found it and am checking it out.
  11. Yes, the original engine and tranny are still with the car. It still had the original white interior when I bought it. Rebuilt the engine last year and now doing the body et al.
  12. Currently in process of a full restoration. Goal is to complete by end of July/August. Attached picture of what it should look like when completed.
  13. I had sent my Rochester carb off my 71 429CJ last year to USA Carburetors . It sat quite a while the engine was rebuilt for a few months. I did not notice the solenoid was missing until the early fall and by that time USA Carbs said they had no record of it. I can’t seem to locate one. The code (picture below) appears to be DOAZ-90856-A for a 429 CJ with automatic and air condition. Does anyone know where I can find one? Thanks. Dave
  14. Yes; have the Marti Report. I was built in Dearborn and sent to Dallas Ford in Dalllas, OR. And thank you for the cowl info!
  15. I would enjoy doing the Blue Ridge Parkway and Tail of the Dragon. I have been to the Dragon a few times but not in my Mustang. I have learned a fair amount already being on the site and recieved help on my current restoration (had paint questions which I recieved answers to). Loaded up pictures of my first 71 that was wrecked and my current 71 (media blasted and metal work almost complete). I will load more as it progresses. Hope to have it back on the road by end of July (hope). Rebuilt the 429CJ engine last year and took the plunge to do a full restore starting in late November. Thanks to all for the input and help. Dave
  16. Hello, Nearly complete with the metal work on my 71 Mach restoration. I have a couple questions with painting to bring it back to original. - The undercarriage is the red oxide. Is the entire car red oxide underneath or is part of it black? - What about the wheel wells? - In the engine bay: Is it painted semi-gloss black or flat black? - Is the cowl area (under the hood) body color or black? I was looking for pictures in the Gallery area but found a lot of variation. Thanks, Dave
  17. Folks, Yesterday, Eddie (whisnane) came by and bought everything I have; all of it. He noted he will not need it all and can be contacted directly if you want select parts. It made it easy for me, empties my garage and I know the parts will be used. Thank you all for the interest. Dave
  18. Thanks for all the welcomes and I have to thank Don65stang for pointing the site out to me. Folks have been great and I have only been here a few days. I will figure out how to load pictures and show progress on my current 71 Mach. Briefly, I found it about a year or so after my first 71 was hit from behind with my friend and restoration shop owner pulling in a driveway. I am using the funds from the parts to help offset the current one. It is a numbers matching 71 Mach I with a 429 CJ and C6 transmission and I am the 3rd owner and have the original bill of sale and other paper work. Rebuilt the engine last year and have been driving it. It is completely down to the shell right now and getting patches to the lower quarters and floor boards. This one came with just an AM radio so had it rebuilt. I am repainting back to the grabber green with black trim. I have taken the original white interior and storing it in my basement and replacing it with the black interior from the first 71 (it was all restored) so it will be the only thing that doesn't match exactly to what it came with. Looking forward to getting it back on the road. Thanks. Dave
  19. I was unaware so good to know. I bought it off eBay when I was restoring my car. It has a Ford date stamp of 1971.
  20. I believe I have PM'd everyone that has contacted me. i have pictures of most everything that can be provided. Thanks for all the interest.
  21. Dan, The 8 track was a factory AM/FM/8 Track but was one I acquired via eBay 4-5 years ago for my car. I have pictures of it (front, top, back to show connectors, original label on top). I have one Beach Boys 8 track tape to go with it. $75 for the radio). If you provide your email, I will send the pictures of it. Thank you. Dave
