  1. Thank You Geoff. My new Nissan has lights on permanently so if i understand it correctly those are my running lights. Here in the U.K now all cars are made that way though not sure when it became law (as passed by the European union) here and Europe.
  2. :goodpost: PERFECT :thankyouyellow: :bravo:
  3. I will look at that option and see how easy or complex it is
  4. Thats definately a solution as long as i can attach them to the bottom of the bumper without drilling any holes. There has to be a bracket out there that will serve my needs. The same principal as a clamp or bench vice but using a nut and bolt instead of a bar. That way the lights are attached BUT can be romoved without any detrimental effect to the car
  5. It can be a amber lense or clear lens with orange bulb.
  6. I'm confused. Are you saying the in the UK that red turn signal lamps can't flash? I believe that is the International standard for turn signals. What is a flashing indicator? Is that a turn signal? A brake light? A running light? A backup lamp? Turn signal = Indicator Stop light = Brake light Running light = Lights you use after dark Red turn signal lamps are illegal on vehicles made after 1965 Turn signals have to be orange in the rear and front BUT white ones in the front are acceptable. Hope this clears up any misunderstanding. Its strange how Americans and the British speak the same language but we speak a totally differant language when it comes to having names for things. rofl
  7. That ssnake oyl company looks like a quality resto business. The one thing i would be interested in too is the Battery diaper. They say the material used will neutralise the acid to prevent the acid eating through the paint or worse case scenario acid eating right through the battery tray and 80% of battery apron which is what happened to the previous owner of the car i purchased. http://www.ssnake-oyl.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=Ssnake-Oyl&Product_Code=BD&Category_Code=VP
  8. :bravo: Congratulations & Well Done ::thumb::
  9. Good idea; But, $66 shipping.... Are the stop light and tail light encased in same bulb. 2 filaments in one bulb? If this is the case can i replace 2 filament bulb with a single filament bulband just have tail lights and no indicator? If the above is possible can i split the feed going to the indicator lights on the rear quarters and put extra set of indicators at the rear? Are the inner oblong lights inside the front grille on a Mach 1 a sealed unit? I was thinking to attach a pair of Mach 1 lights to the rear of the vehicle and turn them into indicators. http://www.cjponyparts.com/mach-1-grille-light-includes-lens-bezel-housing-1971-1972/p/PL13/ Or i could disconnect the rear quarter panel indicators and run a wire extension to the 2 Mach 1 lights attached to the rear of the car. I think this way i could easily put the car back to original for car shows and keep the car as original as possible. I could use a bracket to attach to bumper. Is this route possible with disconnection of quarterpanel lights.
  10. For reference to any U.K member in the future; Having just got off the phone with the ministry of transport (0300 123 9000) SVA/MOT Dept, I was told the folowing information; Any vehicle registered after 1965 have to have fitted orange bulbs in the rear indicators. However white indicator bulbs can be fitted in front indicators.
  11. Those added reverse lights look good. However, with street lighting here in the U.K i don't think i will require reversing lights.
  12. I will have no reverse lights :@ :shootself: Apparently having no reversing light is totally acceptable in U.K law. Unless there is a way of attaching a aftermarket indicator to the underside of the rear bumper i just got to go with what the dumbass U.K law tells me
  13. The U.K Law states that i cannot have a red flashing indicator :@ So i have to rewire the reverse lights and replace a clear bulb with a orange one and run the indicator lights through the reversing lights. :shootself: Does anyone know which color wires i will have reroute to achieve this? :thankyouyellow:
  14. My reconditioned tilt steering is on its way "Your item arrived at our USPS facility in PORTLAND, OR 97218 on July 5, 2016 at 9:22 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination". My seat belts, battery tray and battery apron are on the way; "Hi Steve, Your delivery will be with you Tuesday/Wednesday of next week. On dispatch we can send you tracking". Looks like its going to be a busy week next week. I may even be able to register the car in the U.K in a couple of weeks and get a set of government issue number plates. Finally be able to drive my car.
  15. Heres a nother link to obsolete parts http://obsoleteair.com/
  16. I found this company on Ebay and proceeded to their website. They claim to be "WORLD'S LARGEST MANUFACTURER OF LICENSED RESTORATION DECAL, STRIPE AND STENCIL KITS". So has anyone here used this company? Although the product i require is not listed they state that they can produce custom orders. https://www.phoenixgraphix.com/
  17. Mine have definately had a hard life Would prefer to fit a original replacement set or refurb my set. Osborn reproductions and repops do reproduction woodgrain but not for the door trims. There is a good used set on Ebay too; http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-73-Mustang-Original-Used-Deluxe-Door-Panel-Wood-Grain-Panels-Inserts/331817617727?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D36866%26meid%3D9003f31c879a4f209993a0b0b982b2d3%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D291261674756 Plenty of time to make the right decision
  18. I am sure i will be visiting this thread at some point in the future as i am sure my A/C is busted due to severed parts. Pastelblue can you post as much info as you can along with plenty of pictures or better stll moving pictures. 72hcode thanks for your imput. Seems like A/C is one of those parts in the car that always suffer massively over time with many options to a solution. I agree with you when you say don't try and do it on the cheap with inferior parts. If you invest in right parts once its saves hours/money in the future I know West coast classic cougar repair and restore broken tilt steering and they use new pins with spring washers on the end of the pins which mean they dont suffer the same fate again. It might be worth you contacting them for some of your parts or asking them if they sell a reconditioned unit or recondition your old unit. They have a Youtube channel with a lot of helpful clips for those of us that have very limited knowledge
  19. I was looking on Ebay and found this to replace my tired wood grain; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291261674756?euid=4932c5d99b3f44c2ae8645f6bbf844fa&bu=43036312241&cp=1&exe=12742&ext=32470&es=3&nqc=FCAAAAAAAAAAAABAKAAAAEAAAAAAAQAAAAAABAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQAAAAAAEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACAEAACEIAAEABAAAAAAAAABQAAAAABAAAAAYABAABAAAAAAIAAAAAAABA*&nqt=FCAAACAAAAAAAABAKEAAAEAAEEAAAQAAAAAARAAAAgAAAQIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQAAAAAAEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABAAACAEAACEIAAEABAAAAAAAAABQAAAAABAAAAAYABAABAAAAAAIAAAAAAABA*&ec=1&sojTags=es=es,nqc=nqc,nqt=nqt,ec=ec,exe=exe,ext=ext,bu=bu The seller said "This was the color used in Fords also. What are the dimensions of the door insert. Can you shoot me a picture to my cell phone at 586-214-4062" As you all know my car is off at the mechanics so i am not able to take any measurements right now. So the first thing i need to know is if the wood grain is correct for my door inserts? Second if the woodgrain is right could someone measure the longest point and highest point on the woodgrain insert for me? Finally whats the international dialling code for the U.S?
  20. Welcome from U.K. Nice car
