  1. Fabrice mine was pretty beat up too. I went a differant route to you. I just bought a new one but i chopped the old one up and sold it on Ebay as a man cave shelf Can you see the oblong holes where the trim fits This was how the old one ended up. Chopped what was left of the headlight surround off, strengthened the bad cracks with fibreglass, and sprayed silver/gold. Sold on Ebay to a buyer in France for £100 which went toward new one. I took the old trim off the one i sold and its for sale on ebay. You can see the back of the trim in this listing https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333125908629?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Hope this gives a better idea of how trim fix on
  2. Looking great Mike. Your making some good steady progress. The nipple at the bottom of mine was busted off when i done mine. I had to get the fibreglass out and make a new one and filled a couple of other holes with some fibreglass too. I still got to install mine. I bought some of this for insulation. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-underfelt-soundproofing-acoustic-felt-sound-deadening-underlay-insulation/182950799448?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=690268385949&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  3. +1 with Don. Why make a replacement part you got to keep changing battery. I noticed original price was $99.95. Obviously maker is aware of rarity and happy to overcharge for a clock probably made in China for a couple of dollars
  4. Chuck, those look good value but all metric. I got metric but they dont fit as well as AF spanners. Its hard to find a set thats AF only. Most companies do a mix of both. I did find these which are all AF with a mix of spanners and sockets. Only drawback no ratchets but thats not the end of the world. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TENG-TOOLS-TTEAF62-62pc-EVA-Imperial-AF-Socket-Spanner-Set-3-16-to-1-1-4/362264739623 Anyone else have a favourite or preference to another brand?
  5. Jay Leno on you tube with the Merlin engine on a block out of a Mustang P-51. I never knew before now it was a British Rolls Royce engine. The same engine powered the British Spitfire that successfully stopped the Messerschmitt Bf 109 German invasion. However the American did some modifications(No surprise there!!!!!) Fascinating watch
  6. I just missed a J code white vert last year. It was advertised in a British mag, Classic American. Seller emailed me lots of pics and paperwork to prove its validity. I asked for email because its was a running driving unmolested UK registered car advertised at £6,000 and i couldnt quite believe the priice. I arranged to view and travelled around 150 miles to find it gone when i got there. I was not surprised when it was already gone. However i was a bit irate when he said he accepted first offer of £5,000. Someone definately got a bargain and the one that got away
  7. I am looking to buy some AF tools. Metric are just not snug enough for the Mustang AF nuts and bolts. I am torn between Teng & Snap-On. Snap-On agents, here in the UK, travel around mechanic shops and peddle their wares and offer mechanics tools on a pay weekly basis and charge no interest fees. I think because of this their tools are overpriced with interest factored into the price. There is no denying Snap-On are a good quality product. But then Snap-On are sold individually making them look more affordable. At least with Teng you can go buy a good set all in one hit Has anyone purchased Teng spanners or sockets and if so do you rate them?
  8. Get them media blasted and powdercoated. They are done for life then
  9. Looks like your getting a slap in the face with every turn David. I admire your tenacity, resilience, and can do attitude
  10. My 48 year old wiring was falling to pieces inside the engine bay when i removed the engine and disturbed the wiring
  11. Here you go Nige. Hope its legible enough for you
  12. Do it once do it right. Bodge will only come back to haunt you. Whatever job you do just do it once and you can own the car for 50 years before it needs doing again
  13. lollerz His steering wheel probably went the same way as everyone elses and dried up, cracked, and had a dozen gaps in it. The only problem with repop is the philosophy of the manufacturers( Probably Henry Ford giving orders from the grave) is the same as the Model A Ford "You can have a Model A as long as you want it in black". Then if you paint it correct color for your car the paint will wear off as its the most handled part of your car. Lets hope the makers of the steering wheels start making differant colors. Although i can guarentee green will not be available as greens available for very little in the interior. I dont know tyre prices in the U.S. Here in the UK if you want anything thats not widely used you have your pants pulled down and they shaft you. My BF Goodrich cost around $275 for EACH tyre. White walls were around $500 for a set of 4. Without raised letters or white band would be a lot cheaper. But i do agree with you. Why spend good money keeping the car in A1 condition and skimp on tyres and steering wheel. If you dont want a black repop sterring wheel go for something more sympathetic. This is what i eventually opted for. It slotted straight in with no horn button issues. I done a lot of research as a lot of the aftermarket wheels have horn issues and its one of the very few items actually made in the UK and available in the UK
  14. Jason Thank You for offering. If i am going to keep a original 2100 i would rather put one on with electric choke.
  15. I think Medium Copper (with white interior hopefully) will be the next project IF i ever get this one finished. Medium Copper next to a Grbber Lime would take awesomeness to a new level Are there many Medium Copper out there?
  16. Send your harness to Midlife and get it refurbed.
  17. Saw this on Ebay. Its in stunning Medium Copper. It looks a really nice car for the asking price. Engine bay looks super clean too https://www.ebay.com/itm/1973-Ford-Mustang/163625094140?hash=item2618d0cbfc:g:2uMAAOSwMgJcfGSC
  18. Thats because your both schizophrenic :whistling: lollerz
  19. Thats a kit and a half and looks complicated to fit. Does fuel injection give you much more % fuel economy? You would also have to swap to a 4bbl intake etc to use this kit. I am happy with a 2 barrel. Upgrading to a up to date carb or retaining original keeps the insurance straightforward
  20. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/msd-2900?seid=srese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-srese1-_-msd-ignition&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5rHXn4i54QIVjVuGCh2YaAceEAYYASABEgIrsvD_BwE No more issues! Thats a kit and a half and looks complicated to fit. Does fuel injection give you much more % fuel economy?
  21. I will look at the numbers on the one I have sitting. It ran perfect before removing. It is a 2bbl Motorcraft carb I believe. I will get numbers and pics for you. If you want it you can have it for just postage. That would be much appreciated Jason
  22. I purchsded a original carb from another member. I thought i was buying a 2100 but it turned out to br a 2150. I had bought a rebuild kit and had it rebuilt. it has never really run right since i installed it. So i want to fit a new carb. I hear a lot of members talking about Holley carb and they seem to be the most popular choice. I am not looking for a carb to give me high performance. I just want a carb i can rely on. I have a 2 bl with electric choke on a cleveland
