  2. Actually the C and J codes use the same carb but when you order an SCJ you get a Holley instead of a Q-Jet.
  3. Went out for a morning drive as it’s getting colder and the opportunities to drive are becoming fewer and fewer. Will be time to put the car away for the winter which will give me time to complete a few projects on it.

  6. I tried to get Cliff to rebuild my carb but he said his wait list was over a year long. I finally gave up and installed a Holley sniper system. No more anxiety on whether my car is going to stall and not restart, run rough or anything else. glad to hear you finally got it running and I hope you were able to enjoy it.

  10. I thought that might be it and I removed the bolt completely. No difference. For those that have installed a steering column does it usually just slide right in or is some force required?
  11. My problem seems to be that I can’t completely seat the steering column as I can’t bolt the support brace to the bulkhead.
  12. So I’ve removed my 1971 tilt column to replace my worn rag joint and I can’t re-install the column for the life of me. I ended up installing the joint on the steering gear and I believe I’ve inserted the end of the column shaft into the rag joint but I can’t get it in the last inch or so. I’m hesitant to use a mallet on the steering column as I’m not sure if I’ll damage anything. looking for some advice on how to proceed.
  13. It is a stock part. I first tried installing it on the steering gear while the coupler was installed on the end of the steering column but I couldn't get the angle right. I decided to install the coupler on the steering gear first and then try installing the steering column on the coupler attached to the steering gear. Im sure I'm missing something easy
  14. Trying to re-install my steering column and I can't seem to get the shaft into the steering coupler that I installed on the steering box. Any tips on how to accomplish this as I might have tried for at least 45 minutes. Is it a 2 person job with someone lining it up which the other person is in the car pushing the column into place?
