  1. For exactly that reason.....I want to protect the paint/quarters.
  2. Hello Forum.....I am desperate to get some flaps for my 71. What do you guys use? It would be nice if the where 'clamp-on' type....no drilling preferred. Also, if they said mustang, ford or similar would be great. Thanks.
  3. My Mastercraft Avengers have arrived! I paid through my teeth to get them to Denmark! I will have pictures soon.

  8. Hi Forum......I decided on a set of Mastercraft Avenger GT's. 235/60-15 front and 295/50-15 rear. I am awaiting delivery from the US. They certainly have the look that I want........hopefully handling will be ok too! :-) Will post pictures when tires arrive.
  9. A few days ago, my daughter and I polished and cleaned the car. She took the inside of the car and the rims....I took the outside. The car wasnt that dirty from the beginning. So I dry-washed-wax the car. I bought a bunch of microfiber towels and a new-to-me product from Meg's......this product worked worked a charm......I followed instructions from the 'net......spray on...wipe off-NO PRESSURE.......turn microfibre towel.....wipe clean....polish.....amazing results! EASY TO USE! One product only! I will however give the car a REAL wax-over soon too, but the results with the aforementioned products was pretty amazing. The car is silky smooth to the touch. I had doubts about using it on the glass....but that worked great too! Rims too! I was so excited about the process that I forgot to take pictures, Got my new car cover too.......made a hole for the antenna......car is 'winterized' now. I checked all the fluids too......absolutely clear oils all-round......me happy!
  10. Regarding the bowing of the hood.....I have really, really looked closely at it.....there may be some VERY slight bowing which needs to be corrected........bit it isnt much. I have seen worse on other photos on the 'net. I have also taken a good look at the functionality of the latches........turning/pressing slightly while looking under the hood..........it looks like my latches are ever so little short. I will have to extend/elongate them a bit.
  11. Great guys. Thanks. I will tighten them up, so they dont feel loose. I will be careful to adjust to the correct height, so as not to buckle the hood.
  12. Hi Forum....a beautiful day.....amazing sunshine....I had time today to wax and polish my 71 after its journey from Canada to Denmark. My daughter wiped/detailed the inside of the car and the rims. I did the outside. NOW she(the car) shines again! I must be daft......I have trouble opening and latching the hood pins. What am I doing wrong? To open....I press down slightly and turn.......but I always end up pressing/turning a few times before it finally unlatches. The exact opposite is true when I try to latch the pins too........I find it quite fiddly and it takes several push-down and turn trys to get it to latch. I am really careful when doing the above, so as not to damage anything. What is the technique?
  13. Ok...14mm for my 429 CJ. Got it. I am glad I asked........ Thanks.
  14. Awesome. Thanks. Are they 14mm or 18mm for the 429?
  15. Hi Forum...QQ.......I need a set of good plugs for my 429cj.....any recommendations. I am in the US now......picking up miscellaneous parts......::thumb::
  16. Yes.....I talked to the former owner......it is clear-coated. I will 'dry-wash' the car.......should be good!
  17. Steve...thanks...that is awesome information. I will contact Don. I have been trying to find a lot of underside pictures of Mach1's, to see the setup. Thanks again. I want to keep the car as stock as possible.........but, of course, anything that improves handling would be good. Is it a good idea to put in thicker sway bars? There are kits available... Have any of you fellows done this?
  18. Here are a couple of close-ups of my car..... Looks like clear-coated........I will ask the former owner.
  19. Hello again Forum.......as I am in the US shortly, I am picking up some parts for my car. I need new front and rear swaybar bushings......what size bushings do I need? I have tried to find a kit on Ebay.......but I cant figure out the correct size. 1971 mach1 429cj.......'factory suspension(competition?) Any info would be awesome.
  20. I found some cool stuff.....aerocosmetics......clear coat safe...Boeing approved!
  21. Wow....ok.....I was almost about to screw that up big time! I was going to go down the 3 buckets soap and water route........ So, just a clean micro fiber towel and clean water........towel dipped in the water and the wipe the car.....? Clay/polish/wax afterwards.........? And of course.....stay away from the matte argent and stripes......just wipe with damp microfiber....? That is awesome information. Please keep it coming..........
  22. Hello Forum......please take a look at the picture. There where the leaf springs are held at the rear.......are they called shackles? Are the 'shackles' original to the car? They seem elongated compared to 'normal' shackles.
