  1. Was up at the shop and had my 2 sons Gauge and Paxton with me. They wanted a lunch break so we ran down the road for lunch. On the way back I noticed a Cobra roadster going way below the speed limit. Pulled beside him and said cool car and he said not this POS and held his right hand with the shifter handle in it and stuck in 4th gear lol. Got him to follow me to the shop. Had a 427 side oiler with a TKO 600. Handle sheared right off at the bolts. The PO had ground down and cut a mustang handle to fit it and it was extremely thin at the bolts. So I pulled the handle off of my 65 fastback with the T5 got him all swapped over and back on the road to enjoy the weather. Couple of pics. Have a video but not sure how to post it. 2. Got the bottom side of the hood all done today. Had some pitting here and there and small dings to pull out and some filler work. Had my ace sander out there helping!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. I've seen NOS for half that. I'm going over to a graphics shop that does stickers and wraps. See if they can digitally scan it and make a mask to I can paint the black and then use the sticker for the white to paint it and peel it off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Forgot the obligatory pictures. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. On the 72 Mach the black gauge faces have rust on them. I know there are no repops out there to use. Looking at restoring them and been quoted up to $700 bucks. Has anyone tried repainting the metal gauges or anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Well fender #2 is done. Couple of dents to hammer out no rust anywhere on this one. My "need to do" pile is getting a lot smaller. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks for everyone's kind words. It greatly appreciated. Got 1 fender all stripped down finally. Start the other tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Same driver fender Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Been trying to save as much as the original sheet metal as possible. At some point there had been a fender bender in front. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Bob Perkins collection. I heard on another forum that carb sold then had to be rebuilt for another $2k. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. 65 mustang coupe with 6 cylinder 200 and automatic transmission. Got it in 1995. Took my gf to prom in it, she's now my wife. Unfortunately the car was driven into the ground lol. Lots of rust, mudding, jumping hills lol. It's sitting in the corner of the shop waiting its turn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. 72 Q code Mach 1. Doing a full restoration in the shop. For sale also. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I love those wheels, but I'm bias. When I upgraded my 65 fastback from 4 wheel drum to to 14" Baer brake front and rear I needed 17" wheels. Those are what I went with. Took me 9 weeks to get those wheels and brakes. I been thinking of putting them on the 72 Mach I have in the shop for restoration to see how they look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. This could go on lol. Even the black out paint that's suppose to be under the honey comb tail light panel is missing, it's all green. I have all the overspray in the trunk on the bottom of the tail lights and on the marker lights. I used to work at Toyota that built the sienna and sequoia. You would be surprised of the 1 of 1 stuff that you would see. So many of the sequoia's go to the Middle East and they get special parts. Plus preproduction projects that are assembled in classified areas. But I can't say what I've seen in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Just curious as I'm almost ready to paint the Q code Mach I have in the shop. I've read on the 429 forum that the marker light bezels were installed therefore no color was in the opening but this car has it. Also there is no black out paint behind the door to fender opening. Also there is no primer under the painted argent stripe across the bottom. Then above the stripe is red oxide, then grey, followed by the green color. This car has more flat black pieces than slop grey which is explainable. This is just more curiosity than anything as I'm not painting to be concours, I can't stand orange peel lol. 19. How were the Mach 1's originally painted? As far as order from bare metal to primer and color and stripes? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. What about the chrome fender eye brow pieces. They are chrome but need to be busy color. Same thing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Looking for a pair of original 72 front fender trim in non chrome for the Mach 1. Have new chrome ones but not sure on painting over chrome and longevity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Getting down to the last few items needed. 72 Mach 1 and I need the metal support that goes behind the bumper. Thinking of going with chrome bumper and the entire front was missing on this car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Definitely subscribing. Our Mach will be ready for paint in a few weeks and will be dealing with this too. I know I scraped off a lot of the seam sealer in the back corner on mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Congratulations!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
