  1. I'm about 99% sure the MM and frame perches are different.. The T-bird uses the wider mounts that were in LTD and other large corp cars. I'm putting a 70 LTD motor in mine and have ran into this issue myself. Basically, the LTD type mount is wider f-r by about 1" and are offset too much to put the engine, tranny in the right location. Picture below may help you identify them. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=315289&cc=1139802&jsn=12 is the LTD, T-Bird mount https://www.ebay.com/p/1971-1972-1973-Ford-Mustang-429-CJ-460-6-Peice-Motor-Mount-Kit-Full-Set-Mounts/15021035339?iid=392074353185&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20131003132420%26meid%3D8ecb0773c1964eb488e893d477b000fd%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D162796297710%26itm%3D392074353185&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 appears to be the correct MM for the Mustang.
  2. I'm putting the 460 Performer in mine. It was highly recommended by the "pros" over at the 429-460 forum. Stock height.

  4. 429=460 Police Interceptor High flow manifolds. No cracks or repairs. Perfect for Mustangs, Galaxie, Cougar and everything else with a tight fit. Has the steering gear notch for Mustangs. 5. I may be able to help you out if the others don't work out. Where you located? Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  6. Don, I'm pretty sure those FE Mounts will not work on the 385 series 429-460 engine. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks! I've updated the original post with what I really need. :D
  8. OK, I'm confused now. I'm putting a 429 in a 351C car. The 429 mounts on the engine are 1pc each side , 3 bolts to engine requiring 4 1/2" perch width. The perches on the car are 3 1/2" wide which I believe require the 2pc mounts that attach to block with only two bolts. The service manual is not clear [to me] as to which is correct. I look up MM's on the part site rockauto and it shows the wider, 3 bolt mounts are correct. Do I need new, wider perches for the 429? Help!
  9. 71-72. I'm not looking for the rubber mounts. I need the frame perches, supposedly they allow the engine to sit 1/2" lower (any V8) for convertible? I cant verify that. Also looking for 429/460 engine mounting brackets that the rubber mounts attach to on the block. I can buy them new for about 130.........but I'm cheap!
  10. Let me know what you have (Private MSG please) with shipping to 37743. I need the lower sitting convertible frame perches (Engine Mounts). I need the 429 brackets that attach to the block. [block plates] Also, I have parts to trade if you need something for your build. Tim
  11. You have the frame perches for the 72 conv? If so, Cost + shipping to 37743? Tim PS. Your PM folder is full. Would not accept my PM.
  12. CJ Pony here in the US has their New Vintage units on sale for $510 usd. https://www.cjponyparts.com/new-vintage-usa-gauge-kit-performance-series-electronic-speedometer-1971-1973/p/IBK714-V/ Not sure if they have the international units on sale. I've not used them but they look nice.
  13. Just want to reiterate what OZ stated. The 170 d angles are not correct. I'm working on installing mine and the width offset is about 4" making to plan st 170. It should be 2". Fit before welding. It appears the vertical is correct.
