  7. My body shop also had a hard time with my 73 front bumper. They said they redid it 3 times. They had to have the PPG paint rep come out and help mix the paint. This was back in 2010 and the bumper is holding up well except for the nick and crack I did in the garage.
  8. Cool! Thanks for sharing. It's a lot of fun going a cruise with a herd of Mustangs. I've done it a couple of times with my 04 Mach 1 on Skyline Drive/Blue Ridge Parkway here in Virginia!
  9. Welcome from Virginia. Sounds like a great father/son project. When my son and daughter were very young I had to store my 73 convert away because of lack of funds and time to rejuvenate her. When my son was 15 we pulled the 73 out of the barn and began the restoration. Great times!

  12. I haven't pulled the steering wheel yet, but am getting a squeak when turning the wheel on my 73 convertible. Sounds like rubbing against plastic or rubber. Is there a bushing in that area that needs replacing. If so, I'd like to order part before pulling steering wheel. It is a power steering car if it makes a difference (not a tilt column).

  15. I cleaned my calipers, hubs, and rear brake drums with a hand and drill operated wire brush. Then I used high temperature engine paint on them. New rotor center sections was also painted. After 8 years they still look great. Before:
