  1. The CALlFORNIA CERTIFICATION PENDING is what throws me. Why would it need CA. Certification if it was at a dealer in TN.? Or did ALL vehicles require separate certification for CA.?
  2. Just posted the Marti reports. Marti Paperwork says sent to a dealer in Donelson, TN. Not able to locate. Ford invoice says shipped to Crown Ford, Nashville, TN. Google shows that dealer is still in business.
  3. I will post the invoices shortly. They appear to be for the same vehicle. Everything matches the car that I have. Everything is the same with the addition of the color keyed mirrors and wheel covers. Prices for options are higher on the first one.
  4. Hello, I hope this is the right place to post this. I just got the original invoice on my 72 convertable. I received 2 different ones. First one dated 8/26/71 to a dealer in Tn. Invoice says "Property of Ford on consignment not for sale until notified of federal certification dealer is consignee only". It then lists the options/equipment and dealer cost but has no suggested retail price. Then says ***NOT FOR SALE***. Second invoice is dated 9/11/71 to the same dealer in Tn. This one has ***California*** CERTIFICATION PENDING. It also lists dealer cost and has a suggested retail price. Dealer cost is different on the 2 invoices and the second one adds color keyed racing mirrors and wheel covers to the options list. I am confused as to why the 2 invoices and the difference in pricing. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.
  5. Thank you. Always wanted a convertable but kept putting it off. Finally found one i really liked. Decided i better get busy before the kids take my car keys away. Lol. Now i wish i hadn't put it off so long.
  6. Thank you. According to the door tag that is the original exterior color and the original interior combo. Not sure about top color but i like the color combo too. Might have to see about a Marti Report to find out more.
  7. Hello and thank you for the welcome. To tell the truth, i am not sure what that is for. It is some sort of small outdoor speaker. Havent had a chance to check it out yet. There is a little extra wiring under the dash added somewhere in its life. It will be interesting to find out.

  22. So glad to find this site for 71 - 73 Mustangs. Have acquired a 72 convertible. It is a nice driving and riding car. It seems to be in mostly original condition according to the door sticker. It is a 351C/2V with FMX transmission. It had factory AC but the compressor locked up and was removed by PO. I do have the original compressor though. It has a few electrical issues that i am working on ironing out. I have pulled the instrument cluster to do some investigation. I replaced the old 194 bulds with LEDs because i was unable to see the gauges at night. Made a BIG difference. Also have replaced IVR with new solid state one. Currently do not have Alt or Brake idiot light or functioning fuel gauge. PO put on new gas tank and fuel sending unit. Not surs about sending unit, it only has one post, electrical connector has two contacts. Fuel gauge works with 6 volts across terminals so am guessing it is good. That is one of the reasons i joined, support and help and i love Mustangs. Hope to be able to get and give assistance on the site. Thank you all for making a great website.
