  1. Thank you guys. I think it is a bad switch as well because it started several years ago and has been getting much worse. Time to change it out. Thanks
  2. Hey guys. I am having a bit of trouble starting my car. When I turn the key the rod that goes down looks like its in a bind somewhere and the key is hard to turn. Its always been a bit hard to turn but now the rod is bowing like its having a hard time pushing down the contact. Anyone have a fix for this? Thanks 1972 Mustang with Auto Transmission and 351C.
  3. That looks great. I already lowered the front end and put new springs on the back and front. It has a very nice profile now. I just wanted to fill the wheel wells with a bit more meat. Thanks
  4. This is what I am looking at. The price has come way down on these things. https://www.ebay.com/itm/17x8-American-Racing-VN501-5x114-3-5x4-5-Black-Machine-4-FREE-30-LUGS-STEMS/371925063969?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D49451%26meid%3D0788ef1c18704287bf5465b97eb5649f%26pid%3D100678%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D272345590074&_trksid=p2481888.c100678.m3607&_trkparms=pageci%253Ad110c3b1-f061-11e7-9226-74dbd180dc0f%257Cparentrq%253Abb2e38cb1600aa162149dc79ffe17ac1%257Ciid%253A1
  5. Hey Guys. Long time no see. I am considering on moving my 16" wheels over to my 68 cougar and going with a new set of American Racing 17x8 5x114.3 wheels. I was wondering if these will fit fine on our car with a 4.5" back spacing. I know many of you have gone to 17" and it looks good. Should I stay or should I go. With the new wheels that is.
  6. Ok, information for the next time a coupe owner asks. The shortest bow goes on the front, the next shortest bow goes second and they other 2 bows are the same so they go 3rd and 4th. Use the hooks on the last bow and the hook goes over the top of the bow, not the other way around. I took the ones out of my parts car and that is how they went in my car. Also the middle hole is used on the 1-3 and the bottom hole is used on the 4th bow. I hope that helps anyone else that may need this info.
  7. Does anyone have measurements for the bows for the coupe and what colors they are supposed to be. It would seem that they are all pink with one silver or white one. Thanks
  8. Well the short story on what happened. I did buy the Chrome parts from Dynacorn. They were pretty much a disaster so I sent them back and took my window trim and rocker mouldings to a local shop that the local body shops use. They did my window trim for $10 less than the dynacorn parts and the rocker mouldings for the same cost as dynacorn. No more dings and polished to a chrome finish. So now on to painting and clear coating. Anyone have a suggestion on how I should do that? Next question. I remember when I took the vinyl roof off there were a few screws on the front edge of the window that had to be taken off. They pretty much just add security to the vinyl roof. Does anyone have details on the screws and where they go. My roof guy covered them up and I cannot find the holes. THanks
  9. Well I never did get the right clips but after buying 6 packs on ebay of various clips I made some work. Only to find a guy that can print the right ones for me after I got the trim back on. So back off with the trim and put the right ones on because the new ones make the side door trim a bit loose.
  10. Sounds like the plan. I ordered them yesterday because all of my local chrome guys wanted 2 times the cost of me buying them new.
  11. That car had the side protection bumpers and the rocker molding. You will only have one hole in the bottom of your car if you had the rocker molding. It will be near the rear wheel.
  12. He does now. They just started selling them out of Summit Racing. The windshield trim is still only Dynacorn. You should have seen me tearing up my attic above the garage. I thought I had already ordered the rocker panel molding but all I had ordered were the clips.
  13. Now I have another issue. Scott Drake and Dynacorn make them. Which company has the best reputation for doing it right?
  14. Well guys. I went to restore my moldings only to find out that they have a finish from the factory that prevents you from polishing a spot without stripping the anodizing off. So I am thinking about buying reproduction pieces but I am hearing that they are not so good. Does anyone have any experience with these exact moldings and how they fit and what do you think it will cost just to have a local professional to strip them, take out some small dings and rechrome them?
  15. I am going to refinish them. Thanks for the easy off oven idea.
