  1. if its only $18 then worth a try, since the odds are against me to find info on this I dont want to add to the equation buy throwing money at someone of which it leads to a dead end, I sent an email to Mustang monthly on this but haven't heard from them, they wrote an article about weird VINS way back in 2002, I think Jim Smart is the go to guy on this? (mustang Monthly tech editor) I guess what Im asking is this make it worth more than the usual VIN model? Mr. Mardi came up with nothing, I sent an email to Mustang Monthly no response yet, how is this so tough? one rumor was it was made in mexico? maybe it was stolen and retagged and the DMV didnt notice?

  3. If I'm not mistaken the Scott Drake ones have been available for several months. I heard they are a fiberglass ill fitting / not good part. Nothing to do with MP products Scott Drake are made of Fiberglass and poor fitting parts? possibly... but its better than a 45 year old part that shatter's like glass by just looking at it wronng, I tried to find some pillars from a wrecking yard and they shipped to me in many broken pieces, they are so old and fragile now from UV and oxidized they are very fragile and hard to find. so Im blessed we have something in the aftermarket world now, Ive been bugging MP products for over two years now with NO RESULTS, Im aware Scott Drake is not an MP product but again IM sure its better than what we had to work with until now.
  4. My VIN doesnt match any sort of Ford VIN format at least for Mustangs, this is based from my Title and the tag plate in the windshield/dash, they both match and its very unusual formatted code, is it a Overseas VIN? who knows, Ford known to do crazy things. I just hope it ends up being a rare unusual car, that would be nice for a change! If its an "R" code its really valuable but it certainly doenst have a "R" code engine in it now and it has a C6 tranny and I think all "R" code for the era were 4-speeds only? But if I have De-tuned boss 351 from 1972 that would be awesome! I need someone to steer me in the right direction to do more research , I come up empty with google, maybe Mardi Report? My car is under wraps so I have to spend time and uncover it and then I will take photos of all the tags and nameplates on dash and the door
  5. recently learned scott drake now sells these pillars...amen
  6. I hope someone can help me ...my VIN number is very unusal and not the typical vin number format and I'm confused and cant properly decode it but im hoping im right cuz maybe just maybe its a rare car, (doubt it) could be a R code 351 HO? vin hinting a 1972 but it has 1973 fat lip bumper and rear has 73 bumper and it has a 73 grille and the 351c has a 2 barrel on it? R code would have a 4 barrel, its a crazy car so here is my unusual vin number...help me decode...GOOD LUCK vin# F2R11X146864
  7. i just emailed them a few days ago, they said shop foreman may get back on that project soon ...Had contact a couple of weeks ago. THey said they were returning my pieces, but didn't know when they were going to produce them...... yeah they sent me an email and thought I was the guy who gave them the a-pillars, you better get with them and let them know their yours and where to return perhaps?, but they also said they get to them in month or two if you let them hang on to them a little longer, I guess their busy building a complete dash for a 65 mustang, keeping them busy.
  8. Lol...true! I dont understand what your trying to convey here? please clarify
  9. these parts are rare and hard to find to just purchase and reverse engineer...only the 71-73 enthusiast would know this not a fiberglass manufacturer. they dont know whats in demand or needed for market unless we tell them! i just emailed them a few days ago, they said shop foreman may get back on that project soon
  10. No I havent tried any of MP Products, but its all we have at this time, its got to be better than the fragment of pieces I have now, I was told by MP Products that someone recently sent in some A-pillars to mold, but one came in cracked, so I offered to send them the one I have left (driver side), hopefully thay have intact hte passenser side that I need.
  11. HELP! fellow stangers, I need someone to supply/loan a driver side A-pillar for a 71-73 fastbacks to have reverse engineered and a mold created so we can provide these to fellow stangers for purchase in future in the aftermarket, as we all know how short of supply there is of aftermarket parts for 71-73 compared to 65-70, MP Products is willing to borrow our A-pillars and make a mold an return pillar hopefully undamaged to us, the pay off is a free set of molded fresh A-pillars as well, I only have available is a driver side, my passenger side got damaged in shipping when I originally purchased, as they are very old and brittle.SO we are in need of a Passenger side A-pillar. People on ebay and other used part vendors are selling these rare used parts at outrageous prices, MP products will provide new aftermarkets ones at reasonable prices, please support our cause.
  12. I just received email that Im to send in my OEM used A piilars to cast a mold to make new after markept parts, I assume it will be ABS plastic?, should have some product available on their website sometime soon, I will keep you posted
  13. Im working with MP products to have some fastback A-pillars molded AFTERMARKET, I need to send in a decent set to get reversed engineered, someone else at Mach1restoration.com posted a You Tube video they were going to send in a set but according to MP products they never did, these parts are costly and rare as OEM, I will give you status when available from MP products. again Im only providing the fastback version. 71-73 A-pillar trim.
