  5. After thinking about this and if I pretend its that era again gas would be 30 cents a gal. This makes the 429scj very cool but i'll order a boss 351 with the works 4 sd.
  6. The 429 was rated at 9 MPG I'm not sure about the 351 but with today's gas prices wow. This brings into focus weather it's going to a daily driver or not I don't care who's filling the tank.

  12. Looked like a great turn out for so early in the season. Oh and sounded like fun with the shelby too. Cruz ins are a great place for me to destress.
  13. The rear quarter scoop is kinda cool. I notice it's missing on the shelby what gives ????
  14. I was talking to a friend of mine today who is excited about me getting the 71. He's a mopar guy, he runs a 66 coronet with a 318 and a 70 dart with a 340. He showed concern when I told him I using Mobil 1. His claim is that all modern oils have little if no zinc and that our older engines have flat tappet lifters. He further warned that these non rollers would not be protected with modern oil w/o zinc. What y'all think?
  15. Yesterday was our first day this year with the temp. forecasted over 80 F. So I was off to work in the 71,and I got lots of comments while it was in the parking lot. Cool.
  16. Funny, I guess you never heard of the Dick Van Dyke show either! ;) Oooooh Rob!
  17. Yesterday was our first day this year with the temp. forecasted over 80 F. So I was off to work in the 71,and I got lots of comments while it was in the parking lot. When it was time to go home though I discovered the rearview mirror sitting on the dash. Heat to much for the glue apparently. This meant stopping at the parts store on the way home for and repair kit. When I got home remounting the mirror was a breeze in the nice weather. Sometimes even when you don't have plans to do anything to the car, ford has a better idea.

  19. When I read this my knees almost buckled. You see I too think I've always had it ,or at least I can't remember not having it. one of my first memories is standing on my tippie toes just to get my chin over the top of a brand new 66 fastback. I can still feel the warm door top on my neck as I peered in to see that great wheel, gauge pod, and console gleeming in the bright sun. A few years later the early 70's musle cars ruled the streets of my town. Their owners were my heroes, and I've been hooked ever since. Yes it was a simpler time , but I think it was more than just youth that did it for m
