  1. Thanks again guys . Since I have started this spring thing I have decided to renew both ends with new shocks and springs. Eaton Detroit Springs are so helpful and can supply me with a complete set up so I will work some heights out with the help of Don C`s chart (thanks Don ) and contact them again. At least by getting springs and shocks from them i only have to endure the anal pain of freight once. My last order from summit cost just over $300 USD in freight , half the cost of a pair of springs! Have a Merry Mustang Xmas from New Zealand !
  2. Thanks Geoff Great video , he knows his stuff. I was looking locally because every time I buy something out out the US I get a new bum bored with the freight costs (eye wateringly painful ) Has anybody got a set of uncut 429 front springs lying around that can be measured for me to see how much have been cut off mine .? Mine also have had rubber blocks fitted between the coils to stop them bottoming I presume
  3. Thanks for that guys. I removed one of the front springs last night and sure enough it has been cut and the top arm has been hammering the bump stop The only springs I can compare to is a pair out of my 69 .Same height as a 71 but different wire thickness to the 429 and it looks like mine have a heap cut off. Will see if our local Mustang Supplier has them in stock.
  4. Hi All , I want to put a set of upgrade performance shocks on my 71 SCJ.I think the front and rear have been lowered about 2.5 - 3.0 in (hard to judge as I dont have anything to compare with ).I am having the odd bottom out issue in the front and been looking at QA1 adjustable and want to know if anyone has been there done that or can suggest a set up ? Cheers
  5. Thanks all Have found a pair (mine were broken ) and they are right or left with the flange up one side and down the other but now need to find the correct 5/8 bar?
  6. Can anyone tell me if the rear sway bar mount plates are an opposite pair or are they the same pressed plate flipped for the opposite side.

  12. Thanks All I appreciate the help here as I am sick of trying to modify repro parts to fit but sounds good about the tank. I will price a new tank with Rock as I have dealt with them in the past and they are great. Where do I get a "Dorman 692232" sender ? I will tell you how bad the freight to NZ is, Last week I went onto Easy performance products site to purchase a solid state flasher unit ($25 usd )by the time the freight was added it was $148.06 usd which converted to nzd is $246.76 . A rather expensive flasher module
  13. Does anyone have any ideas on cleaning out a gas tank.??? I have removed it and it has a rusty looking coating inside and what looks like a white powder you would relate to zinc coating deterioration.I am very loathed to replace it due to past experiences with repro parts. Is there a chemical metal treatment out there that works ?
  14. Thanks Guys checked all bulbs and replaced Flasher unit...no go.I then pulled the steering wheel and sprayed a contact cleaner the rinse on turn signal switch , dried with air and YEP success Thanks for your help :thankyouyellow:
  15. Having trouble with my turn signals on my 71 J code ,they dont flash just stay on. I have replaced the flasher unit and tested the voltage at the bulbs and am getting full voltage but not pulsing ?? Anyone out there had this issue ? Thnx Roger
