  1. Very nice installation, I'm looking to do the same to my 73 Mach 1 here in the next 6-8 month currently restomoding it working on floor pans right now then suspension having a stoked 351 Cleveland in it. How difficult was this and how much was this mod?
  2. Any suggestions on which wheel I should go with?
  3. My current plans are to install a 408 stroker kit using my 351C4v heads topped with a Parker Funnel Web intake hope to get a strong 500hp on it. I'm going to have install a cowl hood to clear the intake and carb.( would like to retain the ram air system but will have to see as I go). I wan t to install a 5 spd. tranny. I am rewiring the car with a newer up to date system so I will upgrade my gauges. Looking to install 2011 front seats. Front suspension is a global west set up on the back I have grab attack spring set but would like to install a 4 link on it( no luck finding a bolt on unit) mos

  5. OK!!! done for the day, went ahead and stripped all the EPT coating that was on the floor pan, remover the filler I used to smooth out the welds. I proceeded to clean the entire floor with a wire wheel on my grinder then scuffed the floor with 220 sand paper and applied my first coat of chassis saver( I hope this does what is claims to do). The only issue I'm having is either to use duraglass on the welds to try to make the floor smooth or just leave it alone ( I'm intending to use some type of truck bed liner coating Monstaliner is from the same company that make the chassis saver). Well here
  6. Looks really nice! I had the same problem on mine but alot worse ! I had to fabricate most of that area (by the seat belt anchor) One thing you should have done while you had the frame rail /torque box open is to use a product called rust bullet http://www.rustbullet.com/ to coat the inside of the frame rail. Really pretty easy to do. A little trick is to fish a string through any hole in the rear of the rail.. cut a piece of sponge..tie the string to it...then tie one more string to it...dip the sponge in the rust bullit & one person in the back pulls the string to him (or her) then
  7. Currently deep into a restomod on my 73 Mach 1 found lots of rust under the painted sheet metal( inner aprons, cowl, floor pan) during the replacement of the floor pans I found a nice set from Laurel Mountain Mustang that fit great. Well during the tear down found that the was lots of fiberglass hiding lots of rust holes in both left and right rear passenger floor pans and with my luck no reproduction part. I contacted National Parts Depot and found that they have 2 types of this floor pan both for earlier models. Looking at both decided to try the 66-68 model can be modified to fit 69-70. I a
  8. I had this same issue and went ahead and replaced the fender apron. If you get your self a spot welder cutter it is easy to replace and the just make some new holes in the new piece and spot weld back in place. Now if this corrosion has moved to the front frame extension you might run into other issues. This is what happened to me and i needed to replace the front frame extension and weld in another that I managed to pick up at a salvage yard.
  9. I used plastikote self etching primer and base primer and finished it with semi gloss black Krylon paint bought at the local Walmart. In the fender well i used truck bed liner to give it a durable finish after cleaning the frame and replacing many of the panels this truck bed liner paint did a good job in hiding some imperfection that where hard to finish.
  10. Well still working at it on my 1973 Mach 1 restomod, got to take apart the passenger floor board that was installed previously and to my surprise they sure did a lousy job at it. Here are some pics: As you can see the new pan was installed over a lousy cutout floor and with still rusty parts still attached to the car.:@ Well continued to remove all rusty pieces and cleaned the frame rail and rear seat floor area and found some rust holes. I am waiting for my new set of full floor inserts before cutting the rough ends of the floor pan and the firewall. I think I mi
  11. How complicated was to modify the rear suspension, I see you attached the Art Morrison rear frame and suspension. This is exactly what I am looking to do. I have contacted TCI and RRS to buy a rear suspension system and they don't even touch the 71-73 Mustangs. I am glad you found one.
  12. Hello everyone been a while my computer was stored due to painting and remodeling inn the house, but is finally up. I have enclosed pics of my progress in the 1973 gallery page, was trying to create a photo album to have them all under one file but could not figure it out. I will continue with updates as I finish them:D
  13. Sweeet, love the hood profile. Did you purchase an aftermarket hood or did you installed the cowl to the original hood. I am looking to do the same after i install the funnelweb intake to my cleveland. Also what back spacing did you use for your wheels??::goodjob:: This is the same way i am planning to build my 1973 Mach 1. Damm I am going crazy looking at your pics. If possible can i contact you to get some insight on your build.
  14. Hello everyone glad to find other people still working driving and enjoying this great car. I currently own a 1973 Mach 1 for approximate 19 years is a project car but its been in the back burner due to obligations. But began this year and going with a restomod or a protouring style. I will post my progress and I welcome any feedback. Thanks!!!! Ralph Padro:cool:
