lets see what you did to your mustang to make it serve your purposes or just to be BOSS around here. post pics or tell us what u done.

Re-did the interior to match the exterior. Before it was tan, now it is black (mostly). Re-upholstered the seats myself, saved $300. Felt good about it.

I still need to re-do the trunk and the headliner.

thanks. I may have pulled a huge restoration 'no-no' but I used hog rings and supplemented with wire. The wire allowed me to get a much tighter fit around some of the foam I added and get it all cinched down without fighting to get the hog rings in place. I made sure to twist the ends of the wire around and stuff them under something stationary so they wouldn't punch through the fabric, but who knows. years down the road that could bite me in the arse. Actually, not figuratively.

Well, so far the majority of the work on my project as been rust abatement and reconstructive surgery. However, the following are some of the things I've done so far:

- Engine mods:

-- 351C-2V - bored, balanced, blueprinted, ported & polished 2V heads w/3-angle valve job

-- 9.5:1 flat-tops

-- CompCams 274/[email protected]" lift roller cam kit

-- CompCams 1.73 roller rockers

-- Edelbrock Performer Intake

-- Edelbrock Performer 600cfm carb

-- Duraspark II ignition conversion

-- Accel Super Coil

-- Canton windage tray

-- Holley "black" electric fuel pump

-- Hooker ceramic-coated long-tube headers

-- 2.5" Pypes Stainless Exhaust with Pypes Violator mufflers

- Replaced FMX with an AOD (from '89 5.0 Mustang GT)

- Global West Subframe Connectors

- Classic Auto Air Perfect Fit HVAC system

- Lakewood traction bars (old school 'slappers' - came with the car)

- factory rear sway bar (car did not come equipped)

- RAAMat sound deadener/insulator

Still to come:

- Retrosound Model 2 or USA-630 stereo w/subs & amps

- Electric Life power windows

- Electric Life power locks & keyless entry

- Scott Drake intermittent wiper control

- Scott Drake halogen headlights

- Obsidian71 (local forum guy) taillights w/sequential LEDs (someday)

- TMI Mach 1 "Sport Seats" upholstery

- Dedicated rear camera to replace/augment rear view mirrors

- Crown Vic/Cobra rear disc brakes

- Edelbrock E Street EFI

- BFGs on Torque Thrust II wheels (see the signature pic below)

Hey, at least it'll still LOOK like a '71 H-code Mach 1 when I'm done, right? ;) :D

Finished up welding the 4 link before the holidays. This week I'm going to tear down the rear end and run it over to Speedway Engineering to make sure the axle tubes are straight after welding them. Next will be the rear end shop for a locker.

Now THAT'S cool. Nicely done! ::thumb::

Auron, this is what we were talking about on Sunday for yours.

4 link suspension thats nice and looks like a good job i hope it should handle better now. i always though these cars handled better cause they got a bigger wheel base. i always question how much more respect would these cars have got if they was made in 69-70 as i think they would have handled the Boss motors better

It will be quite some time before it is road worthy again, but I think it will perform beautifully. I agree that our cars are an excellent platform due to the increase in wheelbase. A good friend of mine has a 66 and we both had all the good stuff at the time (big front/rear sway bars, subframe connectors, eccentric eliminators , modern coil springs, reverse eye leafs, bump steer ends..etc.) and he was blown away after taking my coupe out for a high speed flogging.

So far I have made many modifications

- Heads ported with bronze liners, hardened seats, screw in studs, guideplates and roller rockers

- Edelbrock performer intake with a Frankencarb Holley

- Dual Exhaust

- Swapped the C-6 for s T-5, Custom lever and a Hurst "T" handle, a "leather" boot from a Focus

- 18X9 and 18X10 SVT Cobra 10th anniversary wheels with 245/40 and 285/40 Goodyear Eagles

- In process on custom subframe connectors

- 1-1/8" front and 3/4" rear sway bars waiting for install

- KYB GasAjust shocks waiting for install

- Quicker steering box planned (90s Jeep Grand Cherokee)

- Roller spring perches planne

- Eventually a Cobra disc brake conversion

I am just generally working toward making the car a great road car, these cars are already the best driving and handling early Mustangs.
