How are the sail panels attached between the headliner and the lower interior panel? Mine are sort of bowed and loose. Are there any trim pieces on the upper or lower edges? This is a west coast car rust wise, but the interior is rough so I am sure I will have many interior questions, this is just #1.............#2 is how necessary is the trap door. I have one but it is removed at this time missing the latches. Can it be used without latches?

Sail panels are glued at the top - under the rear window w-strip

Bottom is held down by the plastic interior trim panel

There should be a cardboard sqaure glued to the back of the sail panel - it has a door panel type clip on it that snaps into the metal work on the car. That supports the middle.

Thanks Don, I will look closely at them the next time I go out there.
