1972 Mustang Convertable
302 v2 FMX 2.79 rear end
I just got this in the mail the other day, I thought I would share it with you guys.

its a 1972 Mustang Sprint, by Ertl, it was made back in 2004 for the 40 year anav.

I have seen them on E-bay every now and then, and they sell for crazy money ($130 - $180) I did a Google search, and found a hobby shop in Canada www.eautomobilia.com, and he had one in stock for only $59. so I grabbed it.

now I have ten 1:64 Johny Lightning Sprint Convertibles, and one Ertl 1:18 scale fastback, now I need to convince my wife I need the 1:1 scale :)

Cool find! Line them all up together and take a pic.
Mike I just did above,

and here is more of them, I still have many more diecast hiding in Boxes. I have been collecting them since 1991, and not everything, just the cars I would love to own.

I'd love to find a convertible, I'm modifying a plastic kit to make one, its not done yet.

I'd love to convince one of the diecast manufacturing companies to make one.

Why can't I find a coupe ?????
Because no one makes one :-(

Sadly, there are almost no 69-73 Mustang coupes plastic models or diecast in any scale. Sportsroofs are the most popular followed by convertibles. Of the over 1,000 Mustang diecast and models I have, probably less than 10% are coupes. It's not that I don't like coupes, they just do not make them.

Thats quite a collection. You and vamach1 have great collections.
I resemble that remark.

Yea, I know Danbury will bring big money but, I cannot even find one to see how much big money is. Unless someone on here has one that they would be willing to part with.

danburyboss 019.JPGDB71mach1 008.JPGDanbury made a pewter Boss 351 and a metalic blue 429 Mach1 in 1/24 scale. Expect to pay $150 or more each.

I think Testors made a 72-73 Mach1 in pewter which go for about $30.

Wow I thought sun star had better quality. This would take a lot of patience and a new stripe kit and that's just the start.

Thanks for the reply but, I will wait for a better one. Soon or later someone will have a real 429 mustang in pewter.
