Hello,

I have come across this 1973 Mach 1 for sale for $1,000

http://lawton.craigslist.org/cto/3677011237.html

Looks like it has a little quarter panel damage.

Vin Number 3F05FXXXXXX

Guy says it has the original 302.

He also says that he has all parts to put it back together.

Would this be a good start to a project?

Whats a good price for one of these?

How are the floor pans, frame rails, and etc. for rust?
302-2v cars that are drivable in good condition are in the 2500-3500 range not needing COMPLETE assembly. Unless you are quite the mechanic and have a bunch of spare parts my recommendation would be to keep looking. Just my 2 cents.:(

Yeah, If i were to buy this one, that engine is the first to come out.

The floor pans, possibly the trunk floor need replacing.

It's just gonna be a daily driver for awhile.

I'm not gonna be doing a complete restoration.

I'm just gonna get it to where it will drive down the street.

Ok, yeah I see what you mean.

I could still get it and if its not structurally sound then I could part it out and get my money back out.

What I'm trying to get here is how much should I pay for one of these?

Everyone usually asks more than they'll take, does it have enough useable stuff too make it worth an offer for parts? I've seen some of our members revive some pretty ratty looking cars.

Good bumpers

Doors

Fenders

Engine for parts

Cut out the quarter panels

Trunk lid

Disk brake spindles

Dash parts

Glass

Moldings

then scrap the rest

I think there's enough there to get my money back?

What do you guys say?

Start at $750?

Buy the best car you can afford. The closer it is to road worthy the less likely you will lose interest before you can enjoy it. The highest percentage of cars for sale are projects someone lost interest in. That is why I do my projects in small chunks usually during the winter.
