Who have you met?

Recommended Posts

The whole idea behind the Hello Name Badge icon is to promote two things.

1. to encourage members who haven't met anyone on here to make themselves available so since many others have done it.

2. to show that many of us actually know each other now in real life which enhances our site and makes our site VERY different from all the other sites.

Since we actually know each other it makes it hard for someone to get on here and start flaming. This site has taken my interest in the 71-73 mustang and turned it into several good friendships.

So if you don't have a Hello badge and you have met other members let me or another staff member know and tell how many other members you have met so you'll receive the correct badge. Also if you switch from one category to the next let me know that as well and it'll be swapped out.

Here are the categories:

Hello1+.png Met 1 - 4 other forum members in person.

Hello5+.png Met 5 - 9 other forum members in person.

Hello10+.png Met 10 - 14 other forum members in person.

Hello15+.png Met 15 - 19 other forum members in person.

Hello20+.png Met 20 - 29 other forum members in person.

Hello30+.png Met 30 - 39 other forum members in person.

I was in your city shortly after you joined... I didn't know it until a while later.

and the one and only

Wolverine.

Hassled all of them at their homes until they let me in. :-)

But I guess that´s common knowledge on the forum as it was a big feature story at the time. :-)

I was supposed to meet Tim (Ponypastor) in February but we had some communication issues once I was in FL so we could not arrange it. Next time we´ll take care of that.

Don: Thanks for the question you've posed about who has met whom. Friendships based upon the common interest in either cars, hobbies, etc., generally remain somewhat surface oriented. But the guys and gals in this forum seem different and more inclined to go beneath the surface to find common values and priorities. Each member I've met seems genuine and special. I guess it doesn't hurt that I am in FL.

Please forgive, though, if my schedule has been the cause for a hook-up to fail. In addition to Pastoring full-time (my 23rd year at current church), I also oversee a weekly ministry to jailed juvenile delinquents (just boys who have gotten themselves into trouble) ages 14-17 for the State of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. Then I also teach NT Greek for Dallas Theological Seminary in the Tampa area. So, my schedule, especially weekends, is packed, but I love the challenges it brings. Mustangs get pushed onto the back burner and sometimes off the stove completely frequently, alas.

In addition to the guys mentioned earlier on this thread, I've met Tavie Law (formerly of Tampa, now in NC, 1972 Q Code) and Wayde (don't know his 'handle', 1971 H Code with added quench heads), also from Tampa.

Thanks, Pastor Tim, St. Petersburg, FL

So far, just auron73mach1 - since he's actually here in San Angelo. ;) There have been a couple other friends I know that have registered here, but they have since sold their '71-'73s and moved onto other things (I didn't even know their handles).

Hopefully, I'll be able to add to my list next April in Charlotte.
