info needed on 71 cougar gt??

i found a car locally a guy is willin to sell, its supposedly a 71 cougar gt, its an m code in the vin original 4 speed car according to thedoor tag, staggered shocks etc. motor is not in the car, the buck tag is there but im not sure what it would say if it was a real "gt" there is a side stripe on it and the axle code is 9,, however when i spin the drums both sides turn so is it may be posi? anyone that knows cougars if you can provide me some info about gts i would appreciate it. im buying the car either way since its cheap enough but dont know what ill do with it .

Spin one side if the other side spins in the same direction it's a posi if it spins the opposite direction it's an open rear!

Call Don at west coast cougar, he or one of his staff might help, they know those cars better than anyone.
