1973 Mach-1: 351c 4V, C-6, 3.73:1 gears and a long "To Do" list..
I have driven a manual for so long, I'm just not use to the higher RPM's of an automatic. I thought some of you could shed some light on an issue I'm dealing with. My '73 Mach-1 has a mild 4v Cleveland with a C-6 and what I believe to be 3.73 gears (275-40-17 rear wheels). My problem is that I tach at just over 4000RPM in the freeway which is most of my driving. For the daily drivers out there, what gears do you run? Or better yet, what is a typically accepted RPM range to "cruise" at in the freeway?
I know this must sound stupid but my previous car had a T-56 and my '68 has a TKO-600. I haven't not had an overdrive for 20+ years. Thanks a lot everyone.
