Hello,
My name is Johannes. I'm the owner of a 1972 250ci fastback. Since I was a kid i dreamt of American cars. About 10 years ago when i was waiting for inspection of my first car, a ford escort, there was a 1972 mustang waiting behind me. I instantly fell in love. I thought it was to remain a dream. Where I live, you don't see a lot of mustangs. When you see one, it is most likely a 65 or 66. After gone in 60 seconds all the people fell in love with the "elenor", but I was not impressed. My heart went out for 1972 muscle cars. I believe that year most american brands made the most beautiful cars to this day.
A few years ago I married, bought a house (which i am still working on), I got some kids. I worked 2 jobs and was self-employed, so I worked a lot. When i was looking for a car for my business, I hesitated between some cheap cars, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on them. One weekend, me and my oldest son were visiting a reseller of old-timers. And there he stood. My bright yellow dream-car, not many people were interested because next to it stood some 67 - 69 original shiny V8 fastbacks and convertibles (very beautiful indeed, but very very expensive for me).
My heart pounded for that bright yellow car. It was as if I wanted to take care of here, the ugly ducklin who got no attention. Because it was a 250 ci and it had been modified with modern wheels, exhaust-system, striping and it had some surface rust the price was fairly cheap. I jumped back into my car, went after money, made the reseller an offer and I bought myself a 1972 Mustang "for my business".
I still dream of a big V8 engine, I hope to live and to save long enough to make that happen sometime. Lots of people love my car and take pictures of it. When I get the remark "it's a shame it's not a V8" I ask them to show their Mustang.
Currently I'm busy detailing the interior and tuning the engine to get the most out of the 6 banger. I'm planning some original wheels, tires and get rid of the striping. I hope to get inspired by your cars, projects and know-how.
