Your sportsroof was built on 5/2/73 two days ahead of schedule. I have a Mach 1 H-code built on 5/3/73 and another Q-code Mach 1 built on 5/4/73; both were 2 and 3 days behind schedule. All three of our cars were dealer "stock" orders. This is interesting that yours was pushed ahead. The only big difference is yours is a sports roof model.

That blue s a very nice color.

3FO5Q21xxxx is that Mustang

Interesting story/background, I purchased the 73 Mach 1 CJ from the original owner's widow. The car was purchased from a Santa Clara, Ca dealership & spent it entire life in Santa Clara County. Car is 100% Original with a NEVER been hit body. Did NOT know at the time of purchase that the Mach 1 was "1" of "1".....Mark

Nice report..You going to get the break down? With that rare of trim codes i would not dout she is a 1 of 1 car...Only 34 with them trim codes...If i owned her i would get the break down just for the heck of it..lol

Ford used the CJ desigation in 72 - in 73 it was a 351 4V

Mark,

This has been discussed many times but...

Ford uses the term "351C-4V CJ" or "351 C.J." throughout the 1973 Car Service Specifications book (Third Printing July 1973).

So I see no issue in calling it a CJ.

Jeff

Hello Don; So the "CJ" designation was 1 year only in 1972?....Great!!!....now I have to change my Username!!!....Thanks though, I don't want to misrepresent my car...Mark

Rather than use a sevice book

Look on the Marti reports or window stickers all the 72's say CJ

71 was a 351 4V could get ram air

72 was a 351 CJ could not get ram air so they needed something "new" They called it a CJ and had air cleaner with diverter door on LH side and a chrome lid.

73 was 351 4 v again it was the same engine but no CJ designation.
