I have been restoring my 73 Mach 1 for the past 9 years. Putting it all back together now.
Does anyone know where I can purchase brand new roof rail retainment moldings for both sides of a 73 Mach1? This is not the drip rail, but the trim that the rubber window seal fits into.

I can find drip rails, but not the retainment pieces.

I already have the old ones, but after a nice paint job, I don't want to put them back on.

Thanks,

Todd

Hi Todd,

these are afaik not reproduced and I have never seen one NOS on ebay or elsewhere in years. You can only hope on getting a nice used pair from a Mustang salvage yard or from dealers that also have used parts on hand like our Don from Ohio Mustang Supply here in the forum.

Hello Todd Brost,

Spechti is correct. I have seen some NOS in the past. They are far few in between now. I have included the Ford Master Parts parts number for FYI. Might not hurt to request to buy if Ohio Mustang can not help.

Thank you both Spechti and Mustang7173 for your replies. Sounds like I will be trying to find someone that can refurbish the side rails I already have.

Hello Todd Brost,

Qcode351mach has turned us on to Everbrite Protective coatings to restore bolts and provide a rust/corrosion prevention solution. Since the retainer rails are Anodized aluminum, One could use the Everbrite EB:EBP to restore the luster Anodized Aluminum per their instructions.

Everbrite:

Here is another possible solution:

I have already received my trial Everbrite kit. I hope to report back soon on the outcome.
