On my 71 Mach 1, built Sept. 70, I recently rebuilt the front suspension. After removing the dirt and grase of 40+ years, I noticed that the color of the spindles was a very dark, dull gray. There was a pink and a white paint dab on them close tor the upper knuckle.
The back plates were satin black.

2nd Don's statement. Valuable resource on many of the common finishes and shared components with other 71 cars. Be cautious whe starting to venture into late 72 and 73 build dates. Do as much research as you can on similiar build date cars as your own.
