Hi all. Just joining. This Fall I bought a '71 Mustang convertible from a friend of my father-in-law's. It's a 302 and has had a lot of (occasionally questionable) exterior restoration--although he repainted it Meadowlark Yellow with black stripes and hood and I'm definitely ok with that. I'm focusing my efforts on getting it running as good as it looks (starting with a new Edelbrock carb last month). Looking forward to sharing and picking up some tips as I work on the car. I'm fortunate in that I have a 3 mile commute so this car is my daily driver (weather permitting).

EDIT: Added pics.

Welcome from Warrenton Virginia. Nice looking convert. What part of Virginia are you in?

I live in Herndon.

That's not too far from me, my brother lives in Sterling right on the border of Herndon. Check out the Northern Virginia Mustang Club site. They meet next to the Expo Center in Chantilly. I attend those meetings on occasion so maybe we will meet sometime. There are a few members with the vintage Mustangs.

Cool. I'll make a point to getting out to one of those meetups some time soon. Besides, it's an excuse to get BBQ at Willard's. :)

There's someone else in Herndon/Reston with a '71 convertible in grabber yellow with a 351 under the hood, too. Ran into him at Home Depot a while back. Good looking car.

I use to work in Chantilly and would go to Williard's almost weekly. Great BBQ!
