If read the guy put a 71 body on a 2003 chassis. Its different but not really a fan.

I do love a nice resto mod, this one however is not one of them. I think it's funny how in the write up he says once you shut the door it's just like being in any other 2003 Mach 1, so why not just go buy a 2003 Mach 1 for 6,000? Rear tires are ugly too.

I have a 2003 Cobra and we measured it up just for giggles.

The amount of work needed to set a 71 fastback body down on the floor of the Cobra does not look all that extreme. Do not get me wrong it would take talent and skill but everything is very close right out of the box.

Measure 3X and cut once!

From the pictures it looks like they took the floorpan, firewall, and engine compartment from the 2003 and the roof, A-Pillar, doors and rear clip from the 71. This way they did not have to open up the dash or mess with the electronics.

If they get anywhere close to the asking price they have had a great payday!

"If I wanted a Hot Wheels car...I would have bought one."

Such a tasteless blend of new with old. There is nothing about the SN95 interior which even remotely ties in with the '71-73 exterior.

Even this Fox looks more exiting, if only because of the S197 dashboard peeking through the windows:

Funny how something that looks like a Ford Escort can become intriguing and inviting. More importantly, the angular S195 dash works with the Fox's equally angular exterior. By comparison, looking inside that '71 and seeing that PlayDoh SN95 dashboard makes me want to upchuck my lunch. Put it in a New Beetle or something.

Not to mention - as one member here pointed out in an earlier thread - the '03 Mach 1 motor won't even spin those cartoon rear tires.
