Deciphering engine codes

After cleaning all the gunk off of my block I located all the casting numbers. Can anyone tell me what they mean? It's a D2AE CA 4 bolt main block which I was able to read a little about on the web. Date code is 2A04 and the code on the back of the block is 2F175423. From what I read it's a 72 block and the numbers at the end of the last stamping is the production number, so what is the F1 stand for and what's a more detailed translation of the date code? Thanks!

I believe that 2F number should match your VIN.

I would have thought the 1 is just the start of your vin sequencial production number.

2 is year, F is the plant(Dearborn I believe). And the other six numbers are the sequencial production numbers. It all matches your VIN. They just leave out the body code and engine code portions.
