WIDE-BODY KIT FROM SCRATCH

Recommended Posts

That is a super sexy green only my cobra is metallic green. The one summer I drove it in yellow took the pleasure of it being something new so those aren’t it either. Also since there are those other modified cars I posted in Orange, White and Foose pewter it’s none of those either.

I don’t want to be annoying lol so here It is. The BLACKEST of all the black colour chips we went through. No metallic. Just high gloss black. If that’s not a test of bodywork on a fibreglass kit nothing is. Props go out to the courage of my buddy Ivan and my friend Joe.

That’s exactly what I was thinking would look great!! Just takes balls that go clang to shoot that color over that many body mods!! Good job. Can’t wait to see more.

Thank you gentlemen. I have about an hour to chill while Ivan is dropping black so I have one more cool thing to share with you all. Yesterday morning I had a very fun day at the thermal forming shop. Courtney from Versaplast took my rear glass buck on Wednesday and drilled tiny holes into it and mounted it on a board. Then he had it mounted to a base and the show began. Nervous as hell, I watched as they made my rear glass out of 1/4” acrylic. More often than not the MDF bucks let go on the fine edges so there were concerns. He explained that usually the first piece is scrap because they need to get the temp right. Well it wasn’t scrap. They turned out killer!!!!

Just resting in place and not polished but it’s exactly my vision so thank you to Marco for making an idea a reality.

It replaces stock glass. Not oversized. Uses the same rubber that holds a stock piece. I had the option of smoked or even colour tinted acrylic but I like clear.

Nope. I am exercising the demons lol. What I’m after is a very wide look visually and laying stripes front to back and over the roof cuts the car up into segments and you lose the “wide “ effect. By having visual ques going from side to side like the lines in the glass , the moustache stripe on the rear of the trunk and the BOSS like stripe I’m throwing across the nose of the car will bring the eye across the car more. And nothing but black on that flat roof will really look like it goes on for miles.

Aren't you worried that the black will hide most of your design clues like all the openings and scoops etc as there will be no contrast between body and openings?

Just a thought.

It’s wierd cause that’s what I thought but this clear coat is so amazing. IIt really makes things pop. I’m guessing a different colour might make more sense to do the job of accentuating the details but the thing looks mean and elegant at the same time.

My god. That looks amazing. Honestly looking at the pics it is one of those cars that I have to witness in person. You have put every other modded mustang of any year to shame. The lines, attention to detail, craftsmanship, and vision are unreal.

It’s because of the talented people around me that they didn’t just stay ideas in my head. Also I’m not opossed to their input on things and the car has been better off for it. Thanks for all the compliments. I’m having a blast doing it.
