Is that the one that was at Auctions America not long ago? September build? All gloss engine compartment and window trim anodizing removed in favor of full-polish?

Car belongs to a friend of mine; car is not now in original color. But, of course, if purchased, will go back to original Pewter metallic. Has been stored for many years out of the weather. Rarely driven

Just curious, are any of the prices on Hagerty or NADA even close to realistic. Number 4 car is 18-20. I have a 72 351c 2v mach and I just bought for 8500 in wrong color with nice exterior, no rust, new suspension, Engine ticking, ugly seats tear in carpet, and a bunch of little things that need to be done. Definitely a different car you are looking at so don't be surprised if it is much higher with 429. Good luck and I hope you get a great price. HAgerty only shows a bunch of 351C cars sold between 12 and 28K. No 429's. NAda shows the 429 as a 60% increase so they show between 20K and 85K depending on other options and condition. Ebay has one in your color with auto at 20,999 with reserve not met. This should tell what the market will bear site unseen. 6 day and 20 hours left. I like Ebay because this is what people around the country would pay you just don't know if they did. My car sold on Ebay twice for 10,900 and 12,000 but was never cashed out. That is why I got it for 8500 because he was frustrated and car needed love. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Mustang-Ginger/171395959489?_trksid=p2045573.c100034.m2102&_trkparms=aid%3D555012%26algo%3DPW.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D23779%26meid%3D8527991724631430893%26pid%3D100034%26prg%3D10035%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D251596152507

Rotten.... the NADA is for the uneducated and RICH. they say My car is worth around 35,000. Which I would be more than happy to sell for that price. NADA is an on going development of the auto sales industry for their own promotion and profit. Street dollars and REALITY says my car is possibly 18,000.00 and mine is for sale for 14,000 which is realistic.

reference to a Mechem, and Barrett Jackson is for the rich!!! NADA just helps them justify wasting their money.

Per previous remarks, I drove the '71 Mach 1 429 CJ today; 4 speed, rebuilt motor, tranny, and rear-end. 55,000 miles on car itself. Painted a late 90's Ford truck color. Rust free; just needs re-paint back to Pewter.

The one I linked on ebay is already up to 28K with 4 days left. Someone wants it. Should be interesting to see how this plays out. I like the color but I understand going back to original.

That's a sharp-lookin' car. Good luck - I hope you can get it for the right price. ::thumb::

I agree, that is a very clean car. I agree on the re spray. There is something about that light pewter paint that I like.

So, what is your friend wanting to get for the car? From the pictures it appears to be a well cared for car. What are you thinking you would do with the car if you buy it? Just curious if you know how many owners the car has had? With only 55k probably not many I would guess.

Plan was, after purchase, to spend $5-7K on correct pewter re-spray and re-stripe and just drive it; perhaps pull motor and detail it real well. Forgot to add that motor rebuild included a racier cam. Could feel it as it idled at the stop light. Also, a Holley 780/aluminum intake manifold from Summit has replaced the original Quadrajet (but the quad and original manifold comes with car). Car originally from Louisiana, per bill of sale.Mustang 1971 Front engine view.jpgMustang 1971 Interior Steering wheel.jpgMustang 1971 429 Motor July 2014.jpg

A friend of mine out of the Atlanta area sold this 71 429 car last year for 23K. All body work and engine work completed. All original paperwork from prior owner. Car needed the interior installed. He had a majority of it.

Sure wish I been appraised of this car for this price. 23K That is unheard of. Someone got the deal of the decade.
I agree. Even if that was not a numbers matching car that was an unbelievable price!
