1973 Mustang Mach I - H Code
Hey everyone, I wanted to know if anyone has ever seen a 69-70 mach I or Boss 9 hood scoop on a NASA hood? I've been thinking about buying one of those fiberglass bolt ons for kicks :s

Try before you buy. Before you invest in a scoop you might not like, get a cardboard box and cut down to approximate size, paint it to match your car, set it in place and then back off about fifty feet to see if that's really how you want your car to look.

Good idea!

The NASA hood looks mean the way it is!

Switch to a flat hood with a blower and dual quads!
I wish!!:(

On Falcons I like this look with the reverse cowl scoops, used to dig shakers on them too. Now I like them as ford made em on our Mustangs

Yeah those falcons are sweet, and so does the shaker, but I agree!

Yes, please don't. Chuck
+1 to that. Totally cheesy Porn Style!

Flat hood maybe ok...
Not "maybe". Definitely YES!!!! I got the 69 Mach1 scoop on a flat hood and I love the look. Nobody has ever noticed that it doesn't belong there. Even guys who know their way around Mustangs don't see it immediately.

A NACA hood was meant to have two scoops, nothing more. Looks like the nostrils on a horse (it is, after all, a Mustang).

The 3 scoops and two extractors on the '69/70 Shelbys were ridiculous as-is.

All you would need after that is some fake stick-on fender vents. Those look great on every car you've seen them on, right?

The whole visual idea, or "theme" of the 71 Mach 1 was sleek and aerodynamic. The NASA hood is a low- turbulence surface- mounted scoop idea. To stick another scoop on top, or a shaker in it contradicts the rest of the car's visual cohesiveness.

If not the NASA, then just a plain flat hood for me. Eveything else looks like a misguided afterthought.
