1971 Mustang Coupe Restoration

Hey Guys, I got this 71 coupe about a year ago. I am just starting on the restoration now.........

 

For 8 months I have tried to find a forum specific to this era of Mustang, but to avail....until now!! I am so glad I found this site, its got so much information I don't even know where to start.

Thought the floor pans were still good, boy was I wrong.

Really nice shaped coupé you´ve got man!!... I´m sure there´s a bunch of work to do, but it seems like a really restorable car if you want to go that way... I´m Damián by the way... a stock originality fan from Uruguay in South America :P

I'm glad you found the site! It looks like your coupe is in pretty original condition. Did you find any pieces of build sheets under the carpet or seats?

Welcome to the forum, good looking project! Are you going to replace the floorpans yourself? Are they good enough to just patch them?

lol i don't know about build sheets, but there were some papers under the carpets tattered beyond recognition.

yea, i'm planning to replace the floor pans myself.....from the looks of it im gonna have to get full floors.
