My Car
1973 Mustang Convertible.
Restoring and fixing as I go.
Heard some rattling in then front of the vehicle.

Noticed the valence was creating the racket.

Looks a little mangled..

How is it supposed to look ? Or be installed?

I used the search box in the upper right corner to find these excellent directions:

thanks to Qcode351mach (Scott) and other thread contributors

You (and everyone) might try this search next time to help as you request assistance. It has probably been addressed.

This site's archived discussions and supporting info is invaluable.

I sure hope it stays available...

Ray,

Appreciate your rapid response . I've used the search box before . :D

I am looking at correctly installing the front valence http://www.cjponyparts.com/valance-front-1973/p/V6F/

not the front spoiler . (that will be later after I fix the valence).

On my vehicle its not mounted on the center post. (A little mangled)

and I need to get a visual as to how it should be.. correctly installed ..

As you can see in the picture of my vehicle its not connected to the center post at all.

I think his question was in regards to the valance not the spoiler though I could be wrong.:)

Dang - sorry as I can't see pics on this computer...

Thanks guys for the clarification. It would help if I would read the text more carefully!

:)

All good.

No worries .

Still trying to determine how its installed (In the link I provided above from CJ's , its shows a 1969 Mustang but never really goes through how to install the valence , instructions and a side pic of the installed valence

If anyone has pics of a properly installed front valence that may help .

This is what mine looks like. I can't guarantee as to how it is supposed to look originally but it looks pretty solid.

Thanks guys . The pics really help, something to go on.

Got to stop that rattling, I hear it everytime I close the doors in the car..
